Role Description
The Program Specialist plays an essential role in planning, implementing, and evaluating programs that support organizational objectives. This position requires a blend of project coordination, stakeholder engagement, and analytical skills to ensure that initiatives are executed efficiently, on time, and within scope. The Program Specialist works closely with internal teams, external partners, and beneficiaries to align program activities with strategic priorities while monitoring progress and identifying areas for improvement.
The role involves managing program logistics, maintaining accurate documentation, and preparing reports for leadership and stakeholders. Program Specialists are also responsible for evaluating outcomes against performance indicators, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations, and recommending enhancements that improve program impact. This role is well-suited for individuals who thrive on organization, collaboration, and problem-solving, with a strong interest in delivering measurable results.
Responsibilities
- Support the design, development, and implementation of programs and initiatives.
- Coordinate program activities, schedules, and resources to ensure timely execution.
- Monitor program performance, collect data, and evaluate outcomes against established goals.
- Prepare reports, presentations, and updates for leadership, partners, and stakeholders.
- Ensure program compliance with organizational standards, funding requirements, and regulatory guidelines.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align program objectives with overall strategies.
- Facilitate communication with participants, partners, and stakeholders to ensure engagement and satisfaction.
- Identify challenges or risks that may impact program delivery and recommend solutions.
- Support budgeting, procurement, and resource allocation activities as needed.
- Contribute to continuous improvement by recommending process enhancements and best practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Project Management, Social Sciences, Business, or a related field.
- Proven experience in program coordination, project management, or administrative support.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including report writing and stakeholder engagement.
- Analytical skills with experience in monitoring and evaluating program performance.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management tools; knowledge of data analysis software is a plus.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
- High level of adaptability, attention to detail, and problem-solving ability.
