We are seeking a dynamic and forward-thinking individual to join us as the
Deputy Manager, Business Innovation & Incubation
under BRAC's Social Innovation Lab. In this role, you will lead the design and implementation of innovation challenges and early-stage incubation programs that nurture transformative ideas within BRAC. You will work closely with high-potential teams to guide them through structured incubation journeys providing mentorship, setting milestones, and enabling resource access to accelerate their growth. Additionally, you will drive cross-functional collaboration, promote a culture of innovation, and strengthen internal systems to ensure scalable and sustainable impact across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the operational planning and execution of hackathons, innovation challenges, and venture design sprints, including outreach, application management, problem framing, jury coordination, shortlisting, evaluation, and logistical arrangements.
• Provide hands-on support to incubated teams by setting milestones, tracking progress, coordinating mentorship, and facilitating access to resources.
• Monitor and document cohort progress, learning insights, donor updates, presentations, publications, and pivot decisions related to innovation challenges and incubation activities.
• Design and facilitate capacity-building initiatives such as co-creation workshops, bootcamps, mentoring sessions, and venture design sprints for participants, BRAC staff, and community stakeholders, leveraging tools like Lean Canvas, Human-Centered Design (HCD), and business model frameworks.
• Conduct in-depth research through client materials, field visits, interviews, data analysis, and external sources to scope, prototype, and market-test business designs, informing strategic direction for new initiatives within SIL and in collaboration with programs and business support units.
• Contribute to strengthening internal innovation systems by standardizing tools, developing monitoring dashboards, improving cohort tracking mechanisms, and establishing feedback loops for continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with BRAC programs and communication teams to enhance the visibility of innovation journeys, participant stories, and challenge outcomes across organizational platforms.
• Support the Manager in administrative coordination, internal communications, partner engagement, and strategic planning related to the Business Innovation workstream.

Safeguarding Responsibilities:

• Ensure the safety of Programme Participants, people who come into contact with the organisation and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) to achieve the programme goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
• Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action
• Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so.

Additional Job Requirements:

• Strong understanding of design thinking methodologies and project management frameworks, with sound knowledge of the NGO sector and a strong commitment to cultural sensitivity and inclusivity.
• Skilled in facilitating design thinking processes and driving cross-functional collaboration, with excellent communication skills and the ability to adapt effectively in fast-paced, evolving environments.
• Exhibits innovative thinking, strategic vision, and leadership qualities, complemented by strong problem-solving abilities and a results-driven approach.

Educational Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Anthropology, Social Sciences, Environmental Science, or other related fields from any recognized university.

Experience Requirements:

Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in innovation management, venture incubation, social entrepreneurship, or program design, including hands-on experience in facilitating design sprints, organizing innovation challenges, and managing startup or intrapreneurship ecosystems.
