Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented
Tax Manager
to oversee all tax-related activities for PalmPay Bangladesh. This role will be responsible for ensuring compliance with local tax laws, optimizing tax strategies, and managing interactions with tax authorities. The ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in
corporate taxation, VAT, withholding tax, and regulatory compliance
within Bangladesh's financial services or fintech industry.

Key Responsibilities
Tax Compliance & Reporting

  • Ensure timely and accurate filing of all corporate tax, VAT, and withholding tax returns
  • Maintain compliance with National Board of Revenue (NBR) regulations and other applicable laws
  • Oversee tax audits and liaise with external auditors and tax authorities
  • Prepare tax provisions and ensure accurate tax reporting in financial statements

Tax Planning & Strategy

  • Develop and implement tax-efficient strategies to optimize business operations
  • Advise management on the financial and operational impact of tax policies and regulatory changes
  • Provide guidance on tax implications for new products, transactions, and business initiatives

Risk Management & Advisory

  • Conduct periodic tax risk assessments and recommend corrective actions
  • Ensure proper tax deductions (TDS & VDS) across all payments in compliance with regulations
  • Keep up-to-date with changes in Bangladesh tax laws and global tax practices relevant to fintech

Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Finance, Legal, and Compliance teams to ensure alignment between business operations and tax requirements
  • Provide tax training and awareness sessions for relevant stakeholders

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field
  • Professional qualification preferred (CA, ACCA, ICAB, or equivalent)
  • 7+ years of progressive tax experience, including at least 3 years in a managerial role
  • Strong knowledge of Bangladesh tax laws, VAT, and NBR regulations
  • Experience in NBFC, fintech, banking, or multinational companies preferred
  • Proficiency in ERP/accounting systems and advanced MS Excel
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and leadership skills
  • Excellent communication skills in Bangla and English
