Backend Engineer

Position Overview:

As a Backend Engineer, you will design, develop, and maintain web applications using for backend services and Python for scalable, high-performance applications.
You will work closely with product and engineering teams to ensure efficient, high-quality software delivery, and provide mentorship to junior developers. You will also be responsible for troubleshooting complex issues, optimizing performance, and adopting new technologies as the project demands.

Key Accountabilities:

Software Development:
Design, develop, and maintain applications using
and Python
, ensuring code quality, scalability, and performance.

System Architecture:
Collaborate with architects and senior developers to design and implement efficient, scalable, and high-performance system architectures, including microservices and distributed systems.

API Development:
Build and maintain RESTful APIs and work with GraphQL or other data querying languages to serve the application needs. Experience with ) and Python frameworks like Flask, Django, or FastAPI is essential.

Mentorship
: Act as a mentor for junior developers, providing technical guidance, code reviews, and knowledge sharing to help foster their growth.

Performance Optimization:
Conduct performance engineering, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimizations to enhance application performance on both and Python codebases.

Collaboration & Agile Practices:
Actively participate in sprint planning, project scheduling, and design discussions. Contribute to and lead local and remote Scrum teams.

Troubleshooting and Debugging:
Identify and resolve complex issues across both and Python environments, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance.

Documentation:
Produce and maintain clear technical documentation for system design, code, and development processes, ensuring proper knowledge transfer across teams.

Continuous Learning:
Stay up to date with modern industry practices, new technologies, and tools in the and Python ecosystems.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

•  At least 4-5 years of professional experience working with & Python, including knowledge of frameworks like , NestJS; with a proven ability to design and implement full-stack solutions.
•  Solid understanding of JavaScript, TypeScript and Python with expertise in front-end frameworks like and

•  Expertise in both SQL (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB, etc.) databases, and experience with ORM frameworks (e.g., Sequelize, Mongoose).

•  Strong understanding of MVC and other design patterns, along with the ability to architect scalable and maintainable systems.

•  Solid grasp of designing, developing, and maintaining RESTful APIs and working with asynchronous code and event-driven architectures.

•  Proficiency with Git for version control and collaborative development.

•  Good grasp of UI/UX concepts and a passion for building intuitive, user-friendly applications.
•  Experience working in Agile environments, and familiarity with Scrum methodologies.
