We are looking for a Backend Java Developer with solid experience in Spring Boot to join our CMS (Card Management System) development team. The developer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining backend services that power the CMS Back Office Portal and core system functions. This role requires strong problem-solving skills, experience with enterprise-grade systems, and familiarity with secure, scalable microservices architecture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Backend Development
  • Design, develop, and maintain backend microservices using Java + Spring Boot.
  • Implement APIs for portal features (card issuance, transaction management, reporting, user management).
  • Ensure performance, scalability, and security of backend services.
  • Write unit and integration tests (JUnit, Mockito).
  • Database & Data Handling
  • Design and optimize database schemas (SQL and/or NoSQL).
  • Write efficient queries, stored procedures, and handle large datasets.
  • Ensure data integrity and accuracy across modules (CIF, card lifecycle, transaction logs).
  • Integration
  • Integrate backend services with internal and external systems (payment networks, tokenization services, authentication providers).
  • Work with message queues (Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar) for asynchronous processing.
  • Collaborate with frontend engineers to design RESTful/GraphQL APIs.
  • Collaboration & Delivery
  • Participate in agile development lifecycle: sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives.
  • Conduct code reviews and contribute to knowledge sharing.
  • Provide effort estimates and technical inputs to product owners and architects.

Required Qualifications

  • Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent.
  • 3–5 years of professional experience in backend development with Java.
  • Skills
  • Strong proficiency in Java 8+ and Spring Boot ecosystem (Spring MVC, Spring Data JPA, Spring Security).
  • Experience with RESTful APIs, JSON, and data serialization.
  • Solid knowledge of relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle).
  • Familiarity with caching (Redis, Hazelcast, or similar).
  • Hands-on with Git and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Good understanding of software design patterns and clean coding practices.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in banking, fintech, or payment systems.
  • Familiarity with ISO 8583 message flows, EMV standards, or card lifecycle management.
  • Knowledge of microservices orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Experience with API security & authentication (OAuth2, JWT, TLS).
  • Exposure to event-driven architectures and streaming platforms (Kafka).
  • Performance tuning and profiling of high-transaction systems.
