As part of this mission Training Expert(s) for the Inclusive Services and Opportunities (ISO) for the Host Communities and Displaced Rohingya Populations project. This role will be central to driving impact on the ground, and we are inviting expressions of interest from qualified candidates, with the assignment expected to begin in the first half of 2026 for a two-year duration.
About the Project:
The ISO project funded by the World Bank aims to improve access to livelihoods, health, nutrition, education, and psychosocial services for vulnerable Host and Rohingya communities in Chattogram, with a strong focus on preventing and responding to gender-based violence. Its livelihoods component, implemented by the Department of Social Services (DSS) under the Ministry of Social Welfare, will enhance the long-standing Rural Social Services (RSS) program and target 100,000 host community members. While RSS has historically reduced poverty through microcredit and savings support, its skills training services remain limited. To address this, DSS seeks a specialised firm to conduct market and training needs assessments, develop relevant technical, business, financial literacy, and life skills curricula, and deliver training, under the supervision of the ISO Project Management Unit.
About the Role:
The Training Expert(s) will provide sector-specific expertise to design contextual training modules aligned with the RSS program's operational modalities and DSS protocols. The role includes preparing curricula, case studies, and visual or interactive materials tailored for low-literacy, vulnerable populations, facilitating training workshops for Trainers and ensuring quality of training content in collaboration with Case Managers to ensure quality and relevance.
Major Responsibilities:
- Design and develop training curricula on life skills, financial literacy, and business skills in coordination with Trainers.
- Prepare user-friendly facilitation guidelines, tools, and reference materials (e.g., videos, illustrations, flashcards) to support Trainers.
- Lead Training-of-Trainers (ToT) workshops, ensuring effective methodologies, inclusivity, and quality standards.
- Supervise, coach, and mentor Trainers during beneficiary training sessions to ensure high-quality delivery.
- Ensure training content is context-specific, inclusive, and responsive to the needs of low-literacy and vulnerable populations.
- Facilitate and support Trainers in delivering participant training as needed.
- Coordinate with internal departments and external partners to inform training design through research, community assessments, and market surveys.
- Monitor and enhance training quality by integrating feedback, best practices, and evidence-based approaches.
Safeguarding Responsibilities:
- Ensure the safety of Programme Participants, people who come into contact with the organisation and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) to achieve the programme's goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
- Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
- Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Applicants must have a Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences, or other relevant areas.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in directly developing training curriculum and facilitation.
- Knowledge on Bangladesh's socio-economic conditions, especially at the rural level, and the impact of human development, poverty reduction programmes.
- Experience conducting skills assessments, planning and conducting training workshops.
- Experience designing and/or providing inputs in training reference materials such as videos, flash cards, illustrations.
- Fluency in English and Bengali (speaking, reading, writing).
