This position is contingent upon funding from the Department of State.
Project Description:
Meeting Targets and Maintaining Epidemic Control (EpiC) is a global project funded by the US Government and the US President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR), that provides strategic technical assistance and direct service delivery to achieve HIV epidemic control among all at-risk populations; strengthen global health security (GHS), including outbreak response; improve maternal and child health (MCH), address malaria; and promote health systems strengthening (HSS) including supply chain management.

Position Summary:
The Training Coordinator will be responsible for planning, coordinating, implementing, and monitoring capacity-building activities across the EpiC Bangladesh project. The position will support training efforts related to Risk Communication and Community Engagement Maternal and Child Health Nutrition, and Global Health Security The Training Coordinator will work closely with technical and field teams to ensure that training interventions are well-organized, timely, and aligned with project goals and national priorities.

This role requires strong coordination, communication, and organizational skills, along with experience in training design and logistics management for donor-funded health or development programs.

Key Responsibilities:
Training Planning and Design

  • Coordinate with the Deputy Project Director and technical leads to develop annual and quarterly training plans based on project needs and implementation schedules.
  • Support the design and customization of training modules, materials, and job aids in collaboration with technical experts and national guidelines.
  • Ensure that training content is gender-sensitive, culturally appropriate, and reflects adult learning principles.

Training Implementation and Coordination

  • Organize and oversee the logistics of training events, including venue selection, participant invitations, travel arrangements, training materials, and equipment setup.
  • Maintain updated training calendars and ensure all capacity-building events are implemented as planned across the 8 divisions.
  • Coordinate with regional and district-level staff, implementing partners, and government stakeholders to ensure broad participation and smooth execution of training activities.

Documentation and Monitoring

  • Maintain a centralized training database that captures information on training participants, topics, trainers, and outcomes.
  • Track training coverage against planned targets and report on performance indicators (e.g., number of health workers trained, gender breakdown, training satisfaction).
  • Collect feedback from participants and facilitators to assess training quality and recommend improvements.
  • Support preparation of training summaries, success stories, and visuals for donor reports and communication products.

Collaboration and Technical Support

  • Liaise with local government institutions (e.g., DGHS, DGFP), NGOs, and other stakeholders to align training activities with national standards and ensure sustainability.
  • Support orientation of field teams and implementing partners on project-specific tools, protocols, and behavior change strategies.
  • Provide hands-on support during training events, including facilitation assistance, registration, evaluation, and problem-solving on-site.

Logistics and Procurement

  • Coordinate with procurement and admin teams to ensure timely availability of training supplies, materials, and kits.
  • Maintain an inventory of training materials and equipment and ensure proper storage and use.
  • Track training budgets and assist with processing of expenses and vendor payments.

Qualifications and Experience:
Education:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Public Health, Education, Social Sciences, Development Studies, or a related field.

Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in planning, coordinating, and delivering training or capacity-building activities in development or health projects.
  • Experience working with USG, PEPFAR, or other donor-funded programs is preferred.
  • Prior experience coordinating large-scale training events across multiple geographic locations.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong coordination, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work with diverse stakeholders including government, NGOs, and community members.
  • Competence in using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); familiarity with virtual platforms (e.g., Zoom, Teams) is an asset.
  • Ability to write clear training reports and maintain accurate records.
  • Fluent in Bangla; proficiency in English (written and spoken) is required.
  • Willingness to travel frequently to field sites across Bangladesh.

Preferred:

  • Experience developing or adapting training materials for health or behavior change communication programs.
  • Understanding of RCCE, MCH, nutrition, or health systems strengthening approaches.
  • Experience in capacity building for community health workers or frontline providers.
