Dhaka, Dhaka, Bangladesh BRAC Full time ৳70,000 - ৳120,000 per year

BRAC is an international development organisation founded in Bangladesh that partners with over 100 million people living with inequality and poverty globally to create sustainable opportunities to realise potential.

As part of this mission, we are seeking an experienced individual to play the role of Domain Knowledge Expert for the
Inclusive Services and Opportunities (ISO) for the Host Communities and Displaced Rohingya Populations
project. This role will be central to driving impact on the ground, and we are inviting expressions of interest from qualified candidates, with the assignment expected to begin in the first half of 2026 for a two-year duration.

About the Project:

The ISO project funded by the World Bank aims to improve access to livelihoods, health, nutrition, education, and psychosocial services for vulnerable Host and Rohingya communities in Chattogram, with a strong focus on preventing and responding to gender-based violence. Its livelihoods component, implemented by the Department of Social Services (DSS) under the Ministry of Social Welfare, will enhance the long-standing Rural Social Services (RSS) program and target 100,000 host community members. While RSS has historically reduced poverty through microcredit and savings support, its skills training services remain limited. To address this, DSS seeks a specialized firm to conduct market and training needs assessments, develop relevant technical, business, financial literacy, and life skills curricula, and deliver training, under the supervision of the ISO Project Management Unit.

About the Role:

Domain Knowledge Expert will provide sector-specific expertise to design contextual training modules aligned with the RSS program's operational modalities and DSS protocols. The role includes preparing curricula, case studies, and visual or interactive materials tailored for low-literacy, vulnerable populations, and conducting field validation of training content in collaboration with Training Experts and Case Managers to ensure quality and relevance.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Lead knowledge management by developing and documenting IEC (Information, Education and Communication) materials, case studies, and other resources tailored for low literacy and vulnerable participants.
  • Develop and manage a knowledge management system to promote a learning environment within the project.
  • Implement financial inclusion initiatives and ensure Rural Social Services are compliant with the Department of Social Service protocols.
  • Guide Case Managers and Training Experts in resolving implementation challenges while collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to contribute to research, community assessments, market surveys, and evidence-based analysis.
  • Engage with implementing and donor partners to showcase BRAC's work externally and advocate for further investments.

Safeguarding Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the safety of Programme Participants, people who come into contact with the organisation and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) to achieve the programme's goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
  • Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
  • Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Applicants must have a Master's degree in Social Sciences, or other relevant areas.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in a relevant micro-credit programme or Rural Social Services (RSS) program across different roles.
  • Proven experience in designing, delivering, and managing training programmes for livelihoods or skills development projects in the government sector.
  • Knowledge on Bangladesh's socio-economic conditions, especially at the rural level, and the impact of human development, poverty reduction programmes.
  • Experience of working with forcibly displaced communities, indigenous peoples, and disaster-affected populations.
  • Fluency in English and Bengali (speaking, reading, writing).
