Market Research Trainee – Data Analytics and Emerging Frontiers (DAEF) Portfolio

The Intern will play a key role in supporting ongoing consulting engagements by conducting in-depth secondary research, reviewing and synthesizing complex literature, and producing clear, actionable insights for the consulting team. A primary responsibility of this position will be to go through market reports, policy documents, industry data, and other relevant sources, then distill the key findings into concise summaries for internal and client use. The role demands strong reading comprehension, critical thinking, structured writing, and an eagerness to learn. The Intern will report to the Project Lead and work closely with Associates and Consultants to ensure research quality and relevance across projects.

Job Description

  • Position:

    Head Office, Dhaka, Bangladesh (Hybrid – Office & Remote)

    Internship (3 months, possibility of extension)

    Stipend provided

Key Responsibilities

Literature Review & Secondary Research

  • Conduct targeted literature reviews across diverse industries and topics.
  • Extract key findings and insights from lengthy documents, academic papers, and reports.
  • Maintain an organized repository of research sources and references.

Analysis & Synthesis

  • Summarize complex content into clear, structured briefing notes.
  • Identify trends, patterns, and gaps in available literature.
  • Support the development of client presentations and proposals.

Project Support

  • Assist with survey design, data collection tools, and desk research.
  • Coordinate with team members to align research outputs with project objectives.
  • Provide fact-checking and background context for ongoing assignments.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (ongoing or completed) in Business, Economics, Public Policy, Development Studies, or related fields.
  • Excellent reading comprehension and summarization skills — ability to identify what matters in long documents.
  • Strong written communication skills.
  • Basic data analysis skills (Excel, Google Sheets).
  • Attention to detail, curiosity, and ability to meet deadlines.

Preferred Skills

  • Familiarity with academic and industry databases.
  • Experience preparing structured research summaries or briefing notes.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
