Job Description: Senior Manager – Technical

The Senior Manager - Technical will be responsible for leading and optimizing the technical activities, ensuring the smooth and efficient functioning of the organization. This role will involve managing teams, driving process and operational excellence, and contributing to the company's growth and profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the technical development of ladieswear garments, ensuring accuracy in pattern, fit, silhouette, and construction in line with brand and market standards.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with design, merchandising, production, and QA teams to translate creative concepts into commercially viable and technically sound garments.
  • Oversee fit sessions and analyze sample evaluations, ensuring timely and precise implementation of technical corrections to meet design intent and production efficiency.
  • Conduct pattern assessments and fabric behavior analysis to ensure consistency in sizing, grading, and garment balance across styles and categories.
  • Drive continuous improvement in technical processes, maintaining alignment between design innovation, production feasibility, and cost efficiency.
  • Partner with global vendors and factories to troubleshoot and resolve technical challenges during product development and pre-production stages.
  • Ensure compliance with quality standards, technical specifications and production requirements without compromising design integrity or brand standards.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members, fostering a culture of technical excellence, innovation, and collaboration within the department.
  • Monitor industry trends and innovations in garment technology, fit development, and material performance to enhance product competitiveness.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Textile Engineering, Apparel Manufacturing or Garment Technology.
  • 8 to 10 years of relevant experience in garment manufacturing with at least 3 years in a senior technical role. Candidate must have experience handling woven products.
  • Expertise in garment construction, pattern making, marker planning, shrinkage management, and sewing operations.
  • Experience in managing sample for international buyers (e.g., Walmart, Levi's, H&M, Zara, C&A, GAP).
  • Strong skills in defect root cause analysis, implementing preventive measures, and technical documentation.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and productivity improvement practices.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to train, manage, and motivate cross-functional teams.
