Your role purpose
The job purpose is to ensure meticulous handling of all aspects related to Letters of Credit (L/C) and import documentation, maintaining adherence to organizational standards and regulatory requirements. This role encompasses proficient management of L/C transactions, banking functions, and coordination with various stakeholders to facilitate smooth import processes while ensuring compliance with customs regulations and banking procedures.
Your Essential Duties and Responsiblities
L/C Management & Banking Operations
- Ensure proper opening of Letters of Credit (L/C) aligned with organizational standards and purchase agreements.
- Handle all L/C-related matters including transferring L/C, L/C marking, and collecting PRC from the bank.
- Check local bills against L/C terms and confirm release documentation.
- Perform regulatory formalities related to import (Bank, Insurance, Customs).
- Plan and manage payment schedules in coordination with banking partners.
Documentation & Customs Compliance
- Prepare and verify commercial import documents: commercial invoice, packing list, GSP, Mushak 6.3, delivery challan.
- Check shipping documents as per L/C clauses and ensure compliance with customs regulations.
- Maintain all delivery-related paperwork and ensure accurate documentation for customs clearance.
- Submit necessary documents to C&F agents and customs departments for smooth consignment clearance.
- Ensure familiarity with HS codes, customs acts, import policies, and bond formalities.
Logistics & Transportation Coordination
- Plan and coordinate daily transportation and delivery activities to ensure timely movement of goods.
- Arrange transport fare quotations and negotiate with transport vendors.
- Schedule vehicles for outbound logistics operations and maintain communication with warehouse teams.
- Maintain and update vehicle movement records and support management in transport contract negotiations.
Vendor & Stakeholder Communication
- Maintain effective communication with shipping lines, freight forwarders, and fleet management teams.
- Cooperate with C&F agents to ensure timely and accurate customs clearance.
- Negotiate with vendors and service providers to optimize cost and service quality.
- Liaise with internal departments to align logistics and documentation processes.
Competencies required
- Strong English communication skills
(both verbal and written) are essential for handling international correspondence, documentation, and coordination with global partners. - Strong understanding of L/C operations, customs documentation, and banking procedures (Export & Import).
- Proficient in preparing and checking all import- Export related documents.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
Work Experience required
- 2-6 years of job experience
is required in relevant field.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Business Studies or a related field is mandatory.
- Post-Graduation or MBA is preferred but not required
