Electrical Engineer (with Fiber Optics, Substation, Electrical Cabling & Solar Panels Experience)

Key Responsibilities:


• Telecommunication Systems Design & Maintenance: Design, implement, and maintain fiber optic communication networks and other telecommunication systems to enable high-speed data, voice, and video transmission. Oversee fiber optic cable installation, splicing, testing, and troubleshooting ensuring network reliability and signal integrity.


• Electrical Substation Engineering: Plan, design, and supervise electrical substation systems including transformers, switchgear, protection relays, and electrical cabling. Conduct site inspections, feasibility studies, and commissioning of substation equipment to ensure operational safety and efficiency.


• Electrical Cable Installation & Testing: Manage installation, routing, and termination of electrical cables and fiber optic cables in various environments, ensuring adherence to standards and safety protocols. Perform testing and maintenance of electrical cables and associated infrastructure.


• Solar Panel Systems Installation & Integration: Design and oversee the installation and integration of solar photovoltaic systems into electrical networks, including panel placement, wiring, power inverters, and connection to the grid. Conduct performance testing and troubleshooting of solar energy systems.


• Project Management & Coordination: Lead engineering projects from conceptual design through execution, coordinating with cross-functional teams, contractors, and utility companies. Ensure compliance with regulatory codes such as the National Electric Code and National Electric Safety Code.


• Documentation & Reporting: Prepare and maintain detailed engineering documents including circuit diagrams, layout drawings, project specifications, and maintenance guides. Ensure accurate GIS and operational record keeping.


• Safety & Standards Compliance: Adhere to industry standards and safety regulations for telecommunications, electrical, substation, and solar power systems.

Required Skills and Qualifications:


• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, or related technical field.


• Proven experience in fiber optic cable work including installation, splicing, and testing.


• Strong background in electrical substation design, installation, and maintenance.


• Knowledge and experience with electrical cabling and power system components.


• Hands-on experience with solar panel systems design, installation, and integration.


• Familiarity with power systems protection, control, and grounding techniques.


• Solid understanding of industry standards (IEEE, IEC, NEC, NESC) and safety procedures.


• Ability to lead and coordinate multi-disciplinary engineering teams and projects.


• Good problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.


• Proficiency with engineering design software and GIS systems.
