Assistant General Manager/Deputy General Manager, Inventory

The role will be responsible for leading and managing the integrated functions of inventory control and product planning across all categories. This role will ensure optimal stock levels, strategic assortment planning, process improvement, and product development aligned with customer expectations to drive sales growth and operational efficiency.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Inventory & Product Planning: Develop and execute integrated inventory and product planning strategies across textile and non-textile categories. Lead initiatives for system and process enhancements to improve planning accuracy and operational flow.
  • Team Leadership & Development: Lead, mentor, and manage the Inventory & Product Planning team. Foster a high-performance culture, ensure smooth interdepartmental coordination, and drive team capability development to meet organizational goals.
  • Inventory Management: Oversee key inventory functions, including inter-store transfers, damage, and high-aging product handling, ensuring efficient stock movement and minimizing inventory losses.
  • Product Planning & Development: Lead the integration and lifecycle planning of new and existing product categories, including trend aligned categories such as Furniture. Ensure timely product introduction and portfolio expansion based on customer demand and market insights.
  • Performance Monitoring & Reporting: Track and analyze key performance indicators including inventory forecasts, seasonal stock plans, product availability, distribution & replenishment by outlet category, and assortment performance. Provide actionable insights and reports to support strategic decision-making and achieve departmental targets through effective cross functional collaboration.

Safeguarding Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment, and exploitation to achieve the program's goals on safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance, and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
  • Practice, promote, and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
  • Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, and encourage others to do so.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor Degree (preferably in Finance or Supply Chain Management) from any reputed university.
  • Professional Degree/Certification/Post Graduate Diploma in Supply Chain will be preferable.

Experience:

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in Inventory & Product Planning at any reputed organization with a minimum of 3 years in leadership position.
