Purpose of the Role

The Senior Researcher will lead the design, implementation, and dissemination of high-quality research for SAJIDA's development programs. This role combines technical research leadership with strategic fundraising responsibilities, including developing research proposals, securing funding, and publishing in peer-reviewed journals. The role requires expertise in mixed-methods research, project management, and stakeholder engagement.

Responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities:

Research Design & Implementation:

• Lead the design and execution of a wide range of research (implementation, evaluation- experimental and quasi experimental).
• Ensure research projects are time- and cost-efficient and uphold ethical and legal standards.
• Provide strategic direction for data quality control and analysis.
• Prepare and oversee the process for Institutional Review Board approvals.

Research Funding & Proposal Development:

• Identify and pursue funding opportunities from national and international agencies, foundations, and partners.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to develop high-quality, grant-compliant proposals.
• Maintain strong relationships with potential funders, research institutions, and donors.

Research Dissemination & Reporting:

• Write up research findings and coordinate publication in peer-reviewed scientific journals.
• Represent SAJIDA Foundation's research work in national and international forums.

Team Leadership & Capacity Building:

• Manage day-to-day operations of the research team and mentor junior researchers.
• Support the development of internal research standards and staff capacity.
• Travel to field sites to support and monitor research implementation where necessary.

Qualifications:

• Master's degree in social sciences or related field; PhD is an advantage.
• Minimum 5+ years of relevant research experience, preferably in a leadership role.
• Experience in research grant writing and fundraising.
• Strong track record of publications in peer-reviewed journals.
• Proficiency in quantitative research and techniques.
• Excellent understanding of sampling, data quality, and ethical research practices.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and coordinate across teams and stakeholders.
• Strong communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
• Experience in community-based research and stakeholder engagement.
