We are seeking a highly motivated and qualified professional for the position of Deputy Academic Coordinator – General Education Division, to play a leading role in building and strengthening the academic core of our institution.

Key Responsibilities - The Deputy Academic Coordinator will:

1. Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead and mentor a team of approximately 10 teachers.

  • Foster a high-achievement and motivating academic environment.

2. Academic Planning & Objectives

  • Set and review annual academic objectives for each grade/year ("Why to teach?").

  • Define annual skill objectives for each grade/year ("What students should be able to do?").

3. Curriculum Development & Content Oversight

  • Guide subject teachers in aligning lesson content with objectives and Islamic guidelines.

  • Streamline and update content regularly to reflect both curriculum goals and recent developments.

  • Review and standardize worksheets, assessments, and classroom activities.

4. Assessment & Quality Assurance

  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive assessment framework.

  • Monitor and evaluate teaching effectiveness through:

o Lesson plan reviews (topics, activities, dates).

o Quality checks of worksheets and exam papers.

o Classroom observations and teacher feedback.

o Random/unannounced student assessments.

o Reviewing teacher feedback on student work.

5. Teacher Training & Professional Development

  • Organize, conduct, or arrange training programs for teachers.

  • Track implementation and measure effectiveness of training.

6. Student Development & Motivation

  • Lead initiatives to strengthen student motivation, including recognition systems (prizes, awards, etc.).

7. Recruitment & Administration

  • Assist in the recruitment and hiring of teachers.

  • Prepare required documentation, including schedules, reports, and planning files

8. Cover for Absent Teachers

  • Keep up to date with all lesson plans in case of need to cover
  • Use cover classes for obtaining feedback on teacher, assessing student learning, or implement scheduled lesson plan

PERSON SPECIFICATION - The successful applicant will have the following:

  • Proven
    leadership skills
    with demonstrable achievements

  • A minimum of
    FIVE years' experience as a teacher
    at an ENGLISH MEDIUM school

  • A minimum of
    two years' experience in an
    academic
    leadership
    role (Head of Department, Academic Coordinator etc.)

  • Demonstrable attributes, like lengthy facial hair, that demonstrate cultural fit

  • Is proficient in using technology to prepare documents, create, record and disseminate information
