Position Overview:

The
Senior Counsellor
at GPEL plays a pivotal role in guiding students through their higher education journey abroad. The role requires deep knowledge of international education systems, visa processes, and institution partnerships. The Senior Counsellor will also mentor junior counsellors, ensure high conversion rates from inquiries to enrollments, and maintain excellent client satisfaction.

**Key Responsibilities:

Student Counselling & Admissions**

  • Provide expert guidance to students on study destinations including the
    UK, USA, Canada, Australia, Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, Hungary, and others
    .
  • Assess students' academic profiles, financial background, and career goals to recommend suitable institutions and programs.
  • Conduct one-on-one counselling sessions, webinars, and group workshops.
  • Guide students through
    application, offer acceptance, and visa documentation processes
    .
  • Maintain accurate counselling records on CRM and follow up on all student leads.

Leadership & Mentorship

  • Supervise, train, and support junior counsellors and interns.
  • Set performance targets and ensure team alignment with organizational goals.
  • Review application accuracy and compliance before submission.

Partnerships & Coordination

  • Liaise with university representatives, education agents, and visa officers.
  • Stay updated with latest admission intakes, scholarships, and policy changes.
  • Support promotional events, expos, seminars, and school/university activation programs.

Performance & Reporting

  • Achieve monthly and quarterly conversion targets.
  • Generate reports on applications, conversions, and visa success rates.
  • Suggest process improvements to increase efficiency and student satisfaction.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree from any reputable institution.
  • Minimum 3 - 5
    of experience in
    study abroad counselling or international education consultancy
    .
  • Candidates who have previously studied abroad will be a bonus (not mandatory).
  • Proven track record of successful student placements and visa conversions.
  • Strong understanding of
    UK, Australia, Canada, and USA
    admission procedures.
  • Experience using
    CRM tools
    and managing counselling pipelines.
  • Prior experience in an International Higher Education Industry is mandatory.
