Assistant/ Deputy Manager (Design & Coordination - Structure), Construction Operations

Job Description / Responsibility

  • Perform or check structural analysis using software like ETABS, SAP2000, STAAD Pro, etc.
  • Check detailed drawings and specifications that consultants submitted.
  • Ensure all designs comply with local building codes, regulations, and standards.
  • Maintain detailed records of design calculations, construction procedures, and inspection results.
  • Collaborate with architects, construction managers, and other engineers.
  • Review and approve project designs to align construction plans.
  • Conduct site visits and inspections to identify and resolve any structural issues.
  • Provide structural solutions of site issues raised by project team.
  • Investigate structural failures and recommend corrective actions.
  • Communicate with clients to understand their needs and provide regular updates on project progress.
  • Offer technical advice and solutions to clients and stakeholders.
  • Prepare reports and presentations for project stakeholders.
  • Inspect construction sites to monitor progress and ensure adherence to design specifications and safety standards.
  • Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the specified quality standards.

Additional Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • Minimum of 6-8 years of experience in structural engineering, preferably within the real estate sector or from a reputed consultancy firm.
  • Proficiency in structural design software (e.g., ETABS, SAP2000, STAAD Pro), AutoCAD, and other relevant tools.
  • Strong understanding of local building codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities, strong communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Proficiency in both Bangla and English.
  • Ability to work in both office and field environments, with occasional visits to construction sites around Dhaka City.
