We are currently seeking a Co-Team Leader / Construction Engineer (National):

The ideal candidate should have a Bachelor's degree in civil or water resources engineering; a higher academic qualification is an advantage. The candidate must have at least
20 years of professional experience
in water resources management, including leading and managing multidisciplinary teams for project implementation, construction quality control, river training works, and the implementation of ESMP, RAP, and LAP.

A minimum of
10 years' experience
in risk assessment and developing mitigation measures for river training and river management works is essential. The candidate should demonstrate proven expertise in sediment management, community participation, and overall project coordination in complex water resources initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Liaise with PIU, BWDB, the World Bank, and relevant agencies.
  • Support PD/PIU in expenditure planning, budgeting, procurement, bidding, contract management, and required reporting.
  • Coordinate construction supervision and review detailed engineering designs for hydraulic and river training structures.
  • Oversee ESMP, RAP, and LAP implementation and related activities.
  • Prepare and verify estimates and variations, and review reports/manuals on river training works.
  • Supervise construction of river training works (groins, spurs, revetments, crossbars, dredging, bank protection, re-excavation, etc.).
  • Conduct and monitor material testing (lab and field) and certify test reports; ensure material quality.
  • Assist in work quantification, time scheduling, and reviewing design drawings.
  • Prepare inception, progress, quarterly, half-yearly, and final reports.
  • Support the team leader in overall project guidance and supervision.
