We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented professional to join us as the Deputy Manager, Internal Audit. In this role, you will be instrumental in ensuring the quality, compliance, and integrity of construction practices across the organization. You will be responsible for auditing construction projects throughout Bangladesh, assessing adherence to established standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices to strengthen governance and accountability in construction operations. This is a Contractual position initially for one year.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct risk-based audits in alignment with the monthly audit schedule for BRAC construction projects.
• Lead audit teams during critical field and head office assignments, ensuring audit observations are reported constructively and with a business-oriented perspective.
• Review project initiation processes, including work requisitions, budget approvals, manpower deployment, mobilization, and work planning.
• Examine material requisitions from project sites against approved estimates to validate requirements and assess project office preparedness prior to material supply.
• Evaluate control measures that ensure the quality, quantity, and timely delivery of materials, along with proper verification and documentation of supply records.
• Assess the adequacy and implementation of safety measures for construction staff, ensuring protection from harm, abuse, neglect, and harassment.
• Inspect construction records and on-site works to verify compliance with design drawings, technical specifications, and construction codes, ensuring that required inspections are well-documented.
• Ensure timely, accurate, and high-quality reporting in accordance with standard guidelines, maintaining thorough documentation of audit findings and updating audit programs based on risk assessments and management feedback.
• Collaborate with internal divisions, zones, and departments to execute the annual audit plan, strengthen audit-related communication, and promote knowledge sharing within the Internal Audit Department.

Safeguarding Responsibilities:

• Ensure the safety of Programme Participants, people who come into contact with the organisation and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) to achieve the programme goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
• Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action
• Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so.

Additional Job Requirements:

• Possess sound knowledge of IIA Standards, relevant laws and regulations, risk management, compliance, finance, and accounts.
• Skilled in auditing with strong IT proficiency and effective communication abilities.
• Demonstrate analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and negotiation capability.
• Known for being hardworking, dedicated, and result-oriented in achieving organizational objectives.

Educational Requirements:

Graduate or Postgraduate degree, preferably in Civil Engineering or a related discipline, from a reputed university.

Experience Requirements:

Minimum 3 years of experience in Civil Construction, Structural Design, BOQ preparation, and Construction Budgeting, with preference for candidates having experience in auditing or monitoring construction works.
