The Head of Corporate Strategy and Propositions (CSnP) is a senior leadership role responsible for driving the strategic direction, business performance, and management information systems (MIS) framework of the Wholesale Banking Division (WBD). The position acts as a central hub for strategic insights, product innovation, and performance analytics—ensuring data-driven decision-making across all business units. The position will play a key role in supporting senior management through forward-looking approaches, data-based insights, market research and strategic planning to drive business growth, performance improvement and superior customer value being aligned with City Bank's values and culture.

Responsibilities

Strategic Support to Wholesale Banking:

  • The role requires a data-driven and strategic thinker who can support senior management by turning business and market data into meaningful insights for decision making. The person will act as the key strategic person for WBD, aligning business intelligence, financial planning, and product initiatives to strengthen divisional performance and long-term growth.

Budget & Forecast Management:

  • Lead preparation of wholesale banking budgets, monitor progress, and prepare periodic performance reviews for management.

MIS Development & Reporting:

  • Oversee end-to-end MIS generation—covering liabilities, overdue status, asset and deposit movements, trade performance, and asset quality—to support decision-making.
  • Coordinate with IT and Business Finance teams to ensure system compatibility, accuracy, and timely reporting. Ensure regulatory and bank's policy compliance.

Focal Coordination:

  • Act as the main focal point among various internal stakeholders like Business, Finance, IT, Trade Services, Credit Administration, Board Secretariat etc. to ensure smooth information flow, timely coordination, and unified execution across WBD.

Product Development:

  • Lead the design, documentation (PPG), and system implementation of new corporate banking products; supervise enhancements to existing offerings.

Financial Reconciliation:

  • Ensure accurate reconciliation of Finance-provided figures (assets, deposits, trade, revenue, expenses) with BO/BI and monitor data integrity across systems.

Performance Analysis:

  • Conduct regular trend analyses of asset growth, deposit growth, trade business, and overall corporate portfolio performance.
  • Evaluate RM, Unit and Cluster level performance through KPI-based scorecards and recommend corrective actions.

Process Optimization & Projects:

  • Identify process inefficiencies, document business requirements, and collaborate with IT to implement system and workflow improvements.

Administrative & Event Support:

  • Supervise logistics and event management activities for the division, ensuring smooth coordination with internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's from a reputed university.
  • Minimum 12 years of banking experience (can be relaxed for exceptional candidates).
  • Strong analytical and leadership capabilities; adept in data mining, MIS development, data validation & visualization, product design etc.
  • Good command of Excel, Power BI, or similar tools for dashboards and visual presentations.
  • Awareness of banking data systems and digital tools used for planning and monitoring.
  • Proven track record in leading data-backed strategy projects.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Candidates having certifications e.g. CIMA, CFA, ACCA etc. will get preference.
