Position Overview
The Finance and Accounts Manager at Apon will be responsible for managing and overseeing all financial operations through the ERP system, ensuring accurate record-keeping, compliance, and process efficiency. This role involves conducting detailed financial analyses, preparing reports, and providing data-driven insights to support strategic decision-making and optimize expenditure. The incumbent will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to identify cost-saving opportunities and recommend operational improvements. Additionally, the role requires managing external audits by coordinating necessary documentation, ensuring compliance, and addressing audit findings. The Finance and Accounts Manager will also oversee legal and regulatory compliance, liaising with legal counsel on statutory obligations, contracts, and filings. With a focus on stakeholder engagement, the role demands effective communication of financial performance and strategic recommendations to senior management. This position is vital to fostering a financially sound and legally compliant organization, contributing to the sustainable growth of Apon.
Job Description
ERP-Based Accounts Management
- Oversee and maintain all financial records within the organization's ERP system.
- Ensure accurate and up-to-date entries, reconciliations, and reporting in compliance with accounting standards.
- Continuously improve ERP workflows and processes for greater efficiency.
Financial Analysis & Reporting
- Conduct regular financial analyses (budget variance, cash flow, profitability, etc.) to identify trends and recommend cost-saving measures.
- Prepare and present periodic financial statements, forecasts, and business plans to management.
- Offer strategic insights on financial performance and opportunities for optimization.
Expenditure Optimization & Efficiency
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify cost drivers and implement cost-control strategies.
- Advise management on resource allocation and operational improvements to enhance profitability and efficiency.
- Monitor departmental budgets and expenditures, providing timely corrective recommendations.
External Audit Management
- Serve as the primary contact for external auditors, coordinating all required documentation, schedules, and resources.
- Ensure compliance with audit requirements, timely completion of external audits, and resolution of audit findings.
- Implement best practices to maintain robust internal controls and mitigate financial risks.
Legal & Regulatory Compliance
- Oversee all legal and statutory requirements, ensuring timely filings and adherence to relevant laws and regulations.
- Liaise with legal counsel on company matters, including contracts, agreements, and other legal documentation.
- Keep current on changes in financial regulations, accounting standards, and legal obligations.
Qualifications
We want someone who has:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration (preferably Accounting or Finance) from any reputed public or private university.
- Having a professional degree partly completed or audit firm experience will get preference.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience with data analysis tools (Excel/google spreadsheet add advantage)
- RetailTech and FinTech business knowledge will add an advantage
- Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated attention to detail, initiative, and reliability
- Although our HR organogram suggests a person with 4 to 6 years of finance and accounts-related experience with a business organization is a right fit, we believe maturity doesn't always come with the age or tenure of service.

We want someone who:
- Is flexible, self-motivated, and loves to grow with the team. This role requires a diverse skill set and the selected candidate must be prepared to perform a number of tasks with the ability to rapidly learn new skills as needed. We don't expect that you'll know everything on day one, but we do expect that you know how to quickly learn and adapt to the expectations and reality of best practices.
- Having working experience with any RetailTech or FinTech organisation will be better but not mandatory.
- Has instant decision-making ability regarding financial issues and financial management. As you know, in the retail business every single second is valuable and then again it's a fast-growing scale-up so having quick decision-making ability is badly needed. No worries, our south-facing balcony with the green view will host you to breathe deeply.
- Is willing to build the team. We believe you will never be successful if you can't nurture and build a good team and enhance interpersonal communication skills so you will have the opportunity to make your own horizon here.
- Has good command of English. Without a good command of writing and communicating in English will fall the incumbent in serious problems to deal with our foreign advisors, donors and partners. So, we had to make English mandatory with the expectation of sound in our mother tongue.
- Deeply believes in our mission. You have to deeply care about something to really be able to give your 150%. We, therefore, ask that you don't apply if you don't feel a fire in your belly after reading our mission statement: "Financial Freedom for blue-collar workers".
- Is not afraid to challenge conventional wisdom. At Apon, we know how to differentiate opinions from facts. But you need to challenge our thinking further, backing your assertions with numbers. You need to show us proof where we are going wrong and back up our claims for what we are doing right.
Salary & other benefits:
Our yearly budget has a probation of 40k - 60k BDT monthly salary for the said role but we are open to discussing with a highly interested qualified guy. (If you think you can create a better impact than this, don't bother about the salary range, let's talk. We want leaders in Apon who can gain seats in the leadership team). 2 festival bonuses, communication allowances, health insurance, gratuity and other admissible benefits are there as well as having the delicious in-house lunch facilities.
Work hours and days:
Our office has 8 hours and 6 days of weekly work (all Fridays and monthly 2 Saturdays are holiday) but we don't believe in the limit of time, instead output is the priority for us. Do tasks efficiently and chill
