iDE is looking for a qualified Technical Specialist-Communications and Behavior Change for the Transforming Lives through Nutrition Project. This role requires an energetic and detail-oriented person who can manage multiple tasks. This individual is a team player with an entrepreneurial spirit, is willing to learn, and can manage multiple tasks while adapting to shifting priorities. The role will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and supporting communication and social & behavior change (SBC) strategies within the organization's market systems development initiatives. The position will ensure that project interventions are inclusive, participatory, and impactful by combining innovative communication approaches with proven behavior change methodologies to influence practices, norms, and decision-making among target communities, local service providers, private sector actors, and government stakeholders.

This individual will assist with communications tasks including, but not limited to: high-quality graphic design, writing and editing, photo and video production and editing, social media content management, basic video editing, maintaining and fostering social media publication, media relations, digital asset management, event coordination, case story collection, archiving and managing knowledge products and other support tasks as assigned by project lead.

Contract Duration: Up to June 30, 2026, with the possibility of further extension.

Responsibilities:

The responsibilities of the Technical Specialist-Communications and Behavior Change will include, but are not limited to the descriptions below-

Key roles and responsibilities

● Design and implement communication strategies and SBC frameworks aligned with project objectives in agriculture, WASH, and nutrition sectors

● Provide technical input on integrating communications and behavior change into the market systems development approach

● Assess current knowledge management practices followed by iDE in Bangladesh and globally

● Review what has been developed to date, and develop a digital inventory of existing KM products

● Develop specific knowledge products for the identification and synthesis of best practices and lessons learned

● Actively and openly engage with Project Managers, Private Sector Partners, and Technical Specialists to strengthen sector strategy

● Proactively engage with the various project teams to resolve challenges related to communications and knowledge management.

● Support field teams in rolling out communication campaigns, community engagement, and training modules that promote positive practices.

● Maintain a communications calendar with key events, dates, and deadlines throughout the year.

● Conduct regular evaluations of communications and knowledge management outcomes, and adjust the strategy as needed

● Facilitate and frame the strategic direction of the project in collaboration with Project Managers

● Assist the Field Team Leader and Field Technical Specialist in planning and implementation the communication and knowledge management strategy

Photo, Video and Graphics

● Edit and format photos and videos for digital media, adhering to IDE guidelines using Canva or Adobe products, including but not limited to Illustrator, Photoshop, and After Effects.

● Fluent in Photography and videography skills to conduct training and take photos/videos at events and in the field

● Digital asset management, including cameras and any other equipment

● Archiving all digital knowledge products

● Working knowledge of G suite and its various applications

Knowledge Management

● Coordinate with project team to write, format, and compile success stories, project reports, and organizational reports

● Write Photo captions

● Copy editing

● Develop Press releases and media advisories

● Archive iDE Knowledge products

Social Media

● Promote iDE projects and organizational content & media coverage on iDE's Social Media channels

● Create and coordinate content for social media campaigns and observances

● Source content from staff around the country and at events.

● Social media planning, research, reporting, and coordination as assigned

Events

● Promote iDE by organizing and supporting various events

● Facilitate the enlistment of vendors and coordinate the organization's events

● Design content and graphics for events

● Promote events externally and internally through various channels

Media Relations

● Compile and update media contact lists

● Identify and research opportunities to share iDE stories with relevant journalists and media outlets

● Press release/media advisory writing, editing, distribution, and media outreach

● Media interview scheduling and coordination of photo/video shoots

General Organizational and Administrative Support

● Attend and participate in meetings as required

● Format PowerPoint presentation template for other units as needed

● Report preparation for meetings and presentations

● Event planning and coordination

A successful Technical Specialist-Communications and Behavior Change will have the following skills and experience and will be comfortable with the following conditions.

Education:

● Master's degree in Communications, Development Studies, Social Sciences, Public Health, Marketing, or a related field

Work Experience:

● Minimum 4–5 years of relevant experience in communications, SBC, or behavior change, preferably in an MSD, agriculture, WASH, or nutrition context.

● Proven experience in designing and implementing SBC strategies, communication campaigns, or participatory facilitation approaches

● Strong understanding of gender and social inclusion in development programming.

● Experience working at an INGO/NGO will be highly preferred.

Technical Skills:

● Strong technical expertise in communication for development (C4D) and behavior change methodologies

● Ability to translate complex market systems concepts into clear and compelling messages for different audiences

● Proven Knowledge of using graphic design and video editing software (Illustrator/Photoshop/After Effects/Canva)

● Proficient in Microsoft Office, content management systems, and social media platforms.
