About the role
The primary purpose of a Climate Change Specialist is to support the integration of climate resilience and adaptation measures into projects and policies. The role involves monitoring compliance with environmental and climate safeguards, providing technical guidance, and assessing performance to ensure sustainable and climate-responsive outcomes.
Job Responsibilities
Review and confirm detailed designs to ensure climate resilience, adequacy to site conditions, and compliance with safeguard requirements
Monitor environmental safeguards and climate change adaptation works, including EMP implementation, reporting, training, and grievance redress
Measure project performance indicators and prepare completion reports covering compliance, adaptation outcomes, and overall project achievements
Key Requirements
Bachelor's degree in environmental engineering or science
Proven experience in climate change research, climate change adaptation, mitigation, and resilience planning.
Strong knowledge of environmental safeguards, policies, and international climate frameworks.
Ability to conduct climate risk and vulnerability assessments
