Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced
Collection Manager
to lead PalmPay's debt recovery and collection operations in Bangladesh. The ideal candidate will bring strong experience in managing large-scale collections in
banks (state-owned or private)
or
financial institutions
, with proven success in leading large collection teams and achieving recovery targets.
This role requires a leader with deep expertise in credit risk management, debt collection strategies, and regulatory compliance who can set up and scale our collections framework in Bangladesh.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the collections department, supervising a team across multiple channels
- Develop and implement effective collection strategies to achieve recovery and delinquency targets
- Oversee daily collection activities, including call centers, field collection, and recovery agents
- Assign daily, weekly, and monthly tasks to team members and ensure execution
- Analyze portfolio performance and design action plans for early, mid, and late-stage collections
- Establish performance metrics and monitoring systems to track recovery rates and operational efficiency
- Mentor and train collection staff to maintain high performance and professionalism
- Liaise with legal teams on escalated recovery cases and enforcement actions
- Provide management with regular reports and recommendations on collection performance, risks, and strategies
- Drive continuous improvement through technology, automation, and best practices in debt collection
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field
- Minimum 7–10 years of relevant experience in collections and recovery within banks or financial institutions
- At least 3 years in a managerial role leading large collection teams
- Strong knowledge of debt collection regulations, credit risk management, EMI recovery processes frameworks in Bangladesh
- Proven track record of achieving recovery targets and maintaining KPI discipline
- Proven track record of achieving recovery and collection targets
- Strong leadership, communication, and team management skills
- Proficiency in MS Office, collection software/CRM tools, and data analysis for reporting
- Fluency in Bangla and English
