Job Title: Junior Research Associate – FMA Bangladesh

Location: Flexible / Dhaka

Employment Type: Full-time

Salary Range: 20,000 – 25,000 BDT (negotiable based on experience)

About the Role:

FMA Bangladesh is seeking a Junior Research Associate to join our growing research team focused on international seafood trade, market economics, and policy analysis. The ideal candidate will work with secondary data sources, design economic and trade models, and build data visualizations that translate insights into actionable strategies for our clients and partners.

This role is perfect for a candidate with a strong analytical background who enjoys transforming data into meaningful insights and wants to build a career in international trade and development research.

Key Responsibilities:

Collect, clean, and organize secondary trade and market datasets (FAO, UN Comtrade, etc.)

Conduct economic and trade modeling to identify market trends and donor opportunities

Create data visualization dashboards and reports to present findings clearly

Support ongoing research on seafood commodities (e.g., sea bream) and GCC market trends

Collaborate with the Research Lead to prepare reports, presentations, and proposals

Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master's in Economics, Development Studies, Statistics, or related fields

Strong command of Excel, Stata, R, or Python for data analysis

Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, or similar)

Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English

Curiosity, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently

What Success Looks Like:

You'll succeed in this role if you can translate complex data into insights that drive decisions, consistently meet research deadlines, and demonstrate initiative in identifying new data sources or analytical methods that strengthen FMA's research output.
