Placemaking Bangladesh is seeking one Dhaka-based research collaborator for a three-month research engagement focused on the documentation and computational modeling of informal design and fabrication practices in Bangladesh. The project takes an academically rigorous approach, employing BIM-based reverse-engineering methods to formalize non-standard construction and fabrication intelligence found within urban informal environments.

Time Commitment

Approximately 7 to 10 hours per week with flexible scheduling

Engagement Period:
February 2026 – April 2026

Eligibility Criteria


• Final-year architecture students or recent graduates (within the last three graduation cycles, not currently enrolled in graduate school)


• Background in architecture or allied spatial disciplines


• Familiarity with Revit, Rhino, or Grasshopper is preferred but not required


• Prior experience with field-based documentation or traditional fabrication environments will be considered an advantage
