𝐌𝐨𝐝𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤: Remote/Work from Home

𝐕𝐚𝐜𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐲 𝐏𝐨𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: 1 (One)

𝐃𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: 3 Months (Starting from 1st November, 2025)

𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐇𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬: 15 hours per week

𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: 𝟖,𝟎𝟎𝟎 𝐁𝐃𝐓 (𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐡𝐥𝐲) 𝐬𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐲, with career development benefits, e.g., access to closed-door research material, mentorship from the leading experts, financial support to attend relevant conferences, courses, and competitions.

𝐐𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬:

  • 3rd, 4th/final year undergraduate or graduate 𝐥𝐚𝐰 students from any university.

  • A strong academic background in International Law, obtained through courses or summer schools, is required.

Skills in media content creation are preferred.

  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team.

  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.

  • Proficiency in English; knowledge of additional languages, especially Bangla, is a plus.

  • Competence in legal citation and referencing (OSCOLA, Bluebook) is expected.

* Candidates with prior research experience and mooting achievements will be given priority.

𝐊𝐞𝐲 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬:

  • Conducting legal research related to a broad range of International Law topics.

  • Developing research tools.

  • Monitoring current international legal developments.

  • Maintaining legal databases and research resources:

Transcribing and translating relevant documents.

  • Providing administrative and logistical support.

  • Performing other relevant tasks as assigned.

𝐀𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐋𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐉𝐮𝐝𝐠𝐞 𝐌𝐝 𝐖𝐚𝐡𝐢𝐝𝐮𝐥 𝐈𝐬𝐥𝐚𝐦

Late Judge Md Wahidul Islam was born in Faridpur District in 1957. He pursued his LL.B. and LL.M. from the Department of Law, University of Dhaka (4th Batch), Bangladesh. Mr. Wahid began his legal career through practice at the Dhaka Judge Court. He later joined the Bangladesh Civil Service (Judiciary), currently the Bangladesh Judicial Service, and served with unwavering distinction for 27 years. Tragically, he passed away on the night of August 5, 2011, while still in service. Known for his integrity and enthusiasm, Mr Wahid was also deeply committed to developing learning capacity and legal expertise. To honour his legacy, the Bangladesh Society of International Law (BSIL) has launched of the "Judge Md Wahidul Islam Research Assistant" position to help generate the next generation of lawyers with profound expertise in international law.
