Job Location: Head Office

Reports to: Director (Impact Partners, Fund Raising, Partnerships and Communications)

Major Responsibilities

Strategic Communications

  • Develop and implement a forward-looking departmental structure that aligns with the organisation's long-term goals.
  • Create annual strategic plans outlining clear communication priorities, objectives, and activities.
  • Collaborate closely with program teams to develop tailored messaging frameworks that effectively engage national and international stakeholders.

Outreach

  • Establish and maintain an annual content calendar to guide communication efforts and ensure consistency in messaging.
  • Innovate and execute multi-channel activities and events to increase SAJIDA Foundation's visibility and enhance its brand identity.
  • Produce high-quality communications materials, including advocacy products, policy briefs, and infographics, adhering to international standards of writing, editing, and proofreading.
  • Provide guidance on the design and production of communications products to ensure consistency and professionalism.
  • Actively manage and refresh content across various media platforms in line with development communication trends.
  • Position SAJIDA as a thought leader in its working areas through strategically planned multichannel events and initiatives.

Media Relations

  • Develop and implement public relations strategies to elevate the organisation's reputation and increase positive media coverage.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with media outlets, journalists, and influencers to effectively promote SAJIDA Foundation's mission and initiatives.

Team Management

  • Mentor and support team members to ensure quality and consistency of their work, providing guidance and feedback as needed.
  • Develop and manage the communications team's budget, ensuring responsible allocation of resources and compliance.

Requirements

Relevant Bachelor's degree required.

At least 10 years of writing and communications management experience, with a track record of producing concise and accessible communication products.

Previous experience in a Communications Head/Manager role.

Experience in marketing and developing creative communications plans.

Experience of public relations and promotional activities.

Deep understanding of the media and communications landscape with a track record of generating and copy-editing communications products used in policy-relevant research (i.e., advocacy products, policy briefs, infographics, etc.).

Experience in managing and updating content across media platforms, including traditional and social media outlets.

Proficiency in communications product design, including layout, graphics, and formal/legal requirements.

Fluency in English and Bangla is required; proficiencies in other languages are an additional asset.

Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
