Key Position: Disaster Risk Management Expert

The World Food Programme is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead the revision of the Standing Orders on Disaster (SOD) in Bangladesh. This position requires an individual with expertise in disaster risk management, climate change adaptation, and resilience programmes.

As a Team Leader, you will provide technical assistance to support the review and update of the SOD. This includes providing project management support, developing data collection and monitoring systems, preparing work plans, and coordinating stakeholder engagement.

The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical and communication skillset, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders at national and international levels. You will also be responsible for ensuring that the revised SOD aligns with international commitments and complies with key policies.

Requirements:

  • Advanced University Degree in Disaster Management, Environmental Science, Political Science, Development Studies, Social Science, or any other relevant field.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in disaster/crisis management, climate change adaptation, and resilience programmes, with 4 years of managerial/supervisory experience.
  • Fluency in English and Bangla languages.
