Smart Outsource is an Australian-owned offshore staffing provider connecting Bangladesh's top engineers with global projects.

We're hiring a
Façade Design Engineer
to join our Australian engineering client's technical team, supporting façade design, analysis, and documentation for high-rise and commercial buildings.

This role is ideal for
Civil, Structural, Mechanical, or Building Engineers
who want to apply their analytical, thermal, and structural design skills within the façade engineering domain — working directly with Australian professionals and standards.

Key Responsibilities

Structural & Thermal Analysis

• Perform
  wind-load assessments
  in accordance with
  AS/NZS 1170.2
  , including pressure zoning, shape factors, and pressure coefficients.
• Conduct
  structural and FEA analysis
  of façade elements (glass panels, aluminium mullions/transoms, brackets, and fixings) using
  Strand7, ANSYS, or SolidWorks Simulation
  .
• Evaluate deflection, stress, and load paths under wind and dead loads.
• Carry out
  thermal and condensation analysis
  using
  THERM or WUFI
  , ensuring compliance with
  FP1.4
  and
  NCC Section J
  energy efficiency requirements.
• Integrate results into façade performance reports per Australian Building Code.

Façade Design & Documentation

• Collaborate with Australian engineers and drafters to develop detailed façade design packages.
• Review architectural and structural drawings for system buildability, drainage, and fixing constraints.
• Prepare and review façade design documentation:
• Structural adequacy and design calculation reports
• Thermal performance summaries
• Façade compliance reports (FP1.4 / F3P1)

Modelling & Automation

• Develop and maintain
  FEA models
  for façade components using Strand7 or equivalent tools.
• Use
  MathCad
  and
  Excel-based tools
  for component sizing and engineering verification.
• Support design automation initiatives using
  Python or VBA scripting
  for parameterized workflows.
• Manage calculation templates, QA records, and document control.

Technical Communication

• Prepare engineering notes, design mark-ups, and technical reports in
  Word and Bluebeam Revu
  .
• Participate in online meetings with Australian project engineers.
• Maintain documentation aligned with project QA and Australian Standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree
  in
  Civil, Structural, Mechanical, or Building Engineering
  (BUET / KUET / RUET / CUET / MIST / IUT preferred).
• 2–5 years of professional experience
  in façade, structural, or building-performance design.
• Strong understanding of
  structural mechanics, thermodynamics, heat transfer, and materials science.
• Proficiency in
  FEA tools
  such as Strand7, ANSYS, or SolidWorks Simulation.
• Strong command of
  MathCad, Excel (formulas), AutoCAD/Revit, Word, and Bluebeam Revu.
• Excellent English documentation and communication skills.
• Familiarity with
  Australian Standards
  is highly valued:
• AS/NZS – Wind Loads
• AS 1288 – Glass in Buildings
• AS/NZS 1664 – Aluminium Structures
• AS/NZS 4284 – Façade Testing
• NCC 2022 – Section J & FP1.4
• Bonus: Experience in
  THERM, WUFI, DesignBuilder
  , or basic
  Python/VBA scripting
  .
