Planning Manager

Job Description / Responsibility

Key Performance Indicators

  • Annual budgeting and inventory optimization
  • Sales performance, gross margin and markdown management
  • Development and implementation of Business Intelligence (BI) and Planning Tools
  • Adherence to the Merchandising Calendar

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage merchandise financial budgets, seasonal and assortment plans.
  • Lead unit purchase planning, open-to-buy (OTB) management, stock ratio monitoring and demand forecasting for all categories.
  • Ensure order processing and control align with approved OTB and maintain accurate monthly movement reports.
  • Maintain optimal inventory levels to support sales targets and category performance.
  • Generate merchandise analysis at the outlet and regional levels, offering actionable insights on product and sales performance.
  • Collaborate with Merchandising, Sourcing and Distribution teams to align on annual and seasonal financial and merchandise goals.
  • Manage markdowns and promotional pricing strategies to balance profitability and sell-through rates.
  • Partner with IT to develop in-house data sets and BI dashboards for real-time sales, inventory and margin tracking.
  • Explore and implement advanced planning and forecasting tools such as:
  • Conversant with Pivot table and similar tools.
  • Knowledge of Anaplan or Oracle Retail Planning & Optimization will be considered as a plus.
  • Hands-on Power BI or Tableau
  • Lead initiatives to integrate planning tools with ERP and POS systems for improved data accuracy and efficiency.

  • Improving forecast accuracy amid changing consumer trends
  • Integrating automation and digital tools in traditional retail operations

Educational Requirements

  • Masters
  • Bachelor of Science (BSc)
  • Master's degree in Business Studies required
  • MBA or MS in Supply Chain preferred.
  • Data Scientist.
  • Masters in Statistics with knowledge of Pivot tables.
  • Bachelor's degree in Textile Engineering, Footwear Engineering, Fashion Merchandising, or a related field.

Experience Requirements

  • At least 12 year(s)
  • The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s):
  • Retail Store,Tannery/Footwear

Requirements

  • Minimum 12-15 years of experience in merchandising with proven expertise in both footwear and apparel categories.
  • Strong understanding of product development, sourcing, pricing and supply chain processes.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and leadership skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects, meet deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment.
