We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented professional to join our team as a Data Governance & Knowledge Management Lead. In this role, you will drive the development and implementation of a comprehensive data governance framework to ensure the effective management and utilization of organizational data. You will be responsible for establishing robust policies, standards, and processes that safeguard data quality, strengthen compliance, and enhance knowledge management. Collaborating with stakeholders across the organization, you will lead initiatives to build awareness, foster collaboration, and strengthen capacity, embedding data governance and knowledge management practices into BRAC's core workflows to deliver lasting impact.

Key Responsibilities:

• Implement and oversee data governance policies and standards, while leading strategies to enhance knowledge and insights sharing across the organization.
• Drive data classification, master data management, metadata management, and data lifecycle strategies, ensuring consistency, integrity, and security of data assets.
• Build organizational awareness and capacity in data governance and knowledge management (KM) practices through training, guidance, and best practices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver data-driven solutions, ensure compliance with governance frameworks, and strengthen organizational capacity in managing data and insights.
• Conduct data research and maturity assessments to evaluate current practices, identify gaps, and inform continuous improvement of governance strategies.
• Develop and implement a Knowledge & Insights Management Strategy that promotes information sharing, learning, and innovation across the organization.
• Support the organization of data-focused events, conferences, and workshops to strengthen networks, build partnerships, and encourage collaborative learning.
• Document and disseminate best practices and lessons learned, while providing regular reports on data governance and analytics initiatives to stakeholders.

Safeguarding Responsibilities:

• Ensure the safety of Programme Participants, people who come into contact with the organisation and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) to achieve the programme goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
• Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action
• Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so.

Additional Job Requirements:

• Strong knowledge of data protection and privacy regulations, compliance standards, and data governance frameworks, including master data, metadata, and data lifecycle management.
• Proficiency in data management, analytics, and knowledge management tools and software, with experience in reporting and visualization platforms.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, documentation, and technical writing skills.
• Ability to facilitate and deliver effective trainings, workshops, and presentations to build organizational capacity.
• High level of integrity with a commitment to safeguarding, confidentiality, and strong networking and partnership-building skills.

Educational Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Information Management, Communications, Statistics, Economics, Business Administration, or any related field.

Experience Requirements:
Minimum 4 years of experience in communication, research, and knowledge management, preferably within development, humanitarian, or large-scale organizational contexts.
