We are looking for a 
Data Onboarding Engineer
 to lead the 
technical onboarding and data integration process for new clients
. The role involves connecting diverse data sources, transforming and validating datasets, and ensuring seamless integration into the client's unified data schema for analytics and business intelligence.

This is a 
remote, project-based role
 (typically 2–3 weeks per client) with 
fast compensation
 and the potential for 
full-time growth
 based on performance.

Role & Responsibilities

Learn & Understand

• Develop a comprehensive understanding of each 
  client's data structure, schema, and onboarding process
  .
• Understand how data is consumed for analytics and ensure the required inputs are accurately prepared and standardized.

Client Discovery & Project Ownership

• Participate in 
  client onboarding and discovery meetings
   to understand existing systems, databases, file structures, and reporting flows.
• Document all relevant data sources (ERP, Excel, production, procurement, etc.) and their relationships.
• Design a 
  data onboarding plan
  , identifying key tables, fields, and mappings required for integration into the client's target schema.

Data Integration & Transformation

• Connect to client data sources (ERP, SQL Server, Excel, APIs, etc.).
• Build and maintain 
  data extraction and transformation pipelines
   using 
  SQL, dbt, and Python
  .
• Clean, structure, and align datasets across multiple domains such as 
  sales, inventory, procurement, and logistics
  .

Validation & Quality Assurance

• Reconcile transformed data against client reports to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Investigate discrepancies, adjust transformation logic, and implement automated validation checks.
• Maintain consistent data quality throughout all stages of onboarding.

Documentation & Standardization

• Record mapping logic, assumptions, and transformation methodologies for transparency and reuse.
• Develop 
  reusable templates and onboarding standards
   to accelerate future client integrations.

Requirements

Educational Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in 
  Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems
  , or a related discipline.

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 
  3+ years
   of experience in 
  data integration, ETL, or data engineering
   roles.

Technical Skills

• Advanced proficiency in 
  SQL
   (joins, window functions, aggregations, and optimization).
• Strong experience with 
  dbt
   for transformation and data modeling.
• Hands-on proficiency in 
  Python
   for ETL automation, data validation, and scripting.
• Solid understanding of 
  ERP and operational data structures
   (sales, inventory, manufacturing, logistics).
• Familiarity with 
  AWS, PostgreSQL, or Snowflake
   environments.
• Experience integrating data via 
  APIs, Excel files, and relational databases
  .
• Strong analytical mindset and attention to data accuracy.

Soft Skills

• Excellent communication skills for working directly with client IT and operations teams.
• Highly organized, independent, and detail-oriented.
• Strong time-management skills to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
• Proficiency in 
  English and/or Spanish
   is preferred.
