Role Description

This is an internship role located on-site in Dhaka, Bangladesh with
BugsBD Limited
. As a Cyber Security intern, you will work alongside our cybersecurity team to help identify security risks and vulnerabilities in our clients' systems. You will also assist in implementing security solutions and play an active role in our cybersecurity initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct Penetration Testing and Vulnerability Assessment to identify vulnerabilities in various systems and networks.
  • Assist in the development of comprehensive reports outlining identified risks and recommended solutions.
  • Collaborate with the cybersecurity team to implement and refine security measures.
  • Stay informed about the latest cybersecurity trends, threats, and technologies.
  • Review and update documentation for policies, procedures, standards and guidelines.
  • Research and evaluate applications and services for use by the institution. Provide a matrix when possible, detailing features within each different application or service.
  • Develop comprehensive and accurate reports and presentations for both technical and executive audiences.
  • Assist in ensuring compliance with PCI DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard) and ISO 27001 standards.
  • Other cybersecurity-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Cyber Security, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Strong interest in ethical hacking and penetration testing.
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity concepts, tools, and methodologies (e.g., vulnerability scanning, network security).
  • Knowledge of common cyber threats and vulnerabilities, including basic attack vectors.
  • Understanding of basic computer networking concepts, security protocols and operating systems.
  • Experience with programming languages such as PHP, Python or Java is a plus.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a dynamic, collaborative team.
  • Knowledge of PCI DSS compliance and ISO 27001 standards is preferred.
  • Experience or interest in writing detailed documentation, including technical reports, policy guidelines, and process documentation.
