Job Responsibilities:
Strategic & Operational Leadership:
- Develop and implement IE strategies aligned with business goals to improve efficiency, cost competitiveness, and delivery performance.
- Lead IE teams across all units, ensuring standardized systems and consistency in IE practices.
- Partner with production, planning, and technical teams to drive factory performance improvement initiatives.
Method Engineering & Process Optimization:
- Oversee operation bulletin preparation, method study, line layout, and workstation design.
- Introduce innovative methods and attachments to reduce handling and improve output.
- Drive ergonomic workplace design and ensure operator-friendly workflow.
- Conduct time and motion studies to validate and refine GSD-based standards.
- Analyze GSD data to identify improvement opportunities in methods, machine selection, and motion economy.
- Ensure alignment of GSD data between sample development, production engineering, and costing teams.
Efficiency & Productivity Management:
- Set line-level and factory-level efficiency targets based on GSD SMVs and planned output.
- Monitor daily/weekly performance, identify gaps, and drive structured improvement plans.
- Analyze efficiency variance between planned and actual performance and implement corrective actions.
- Identify bottlenecks and implement solutions to eliminate waste and non-value-added activities.
- Benchmark and improve machine, manpower, and method utilization.
Lean & Continuous Improvement:
- Drive Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and 5S activities.
- Establish a culture of continuous improvement across all production units.
- Lead IE-driven improvement projects to reduce cost per minute and improve overall equipment and manpower utilization.
Capacity Planning & Optimization:
- Provide accurate capacity inputs for pre-production planning and cost estimation.
- Optimize line balancing, manpower allocation, and machine utilization based on GSD and actual performance trends.
- Coordinate with production and planning teams to optimize resource allocation.
Team Leadership & Capability Development:
- Build, train, and mentor the IE team on GSD application, method study, and lean tools.
- Drive IE skill enhancement through structured training and performance evaluation.
- Encourage innovation and ownership within the team for productivity and cost improvement projects.
Layout & Facility Optimization:
- Design and approve efficient factory and line layouts to ensure optimal workflow and safety.
- Support expansion or relocations with layout and process studies.
Education and Required Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, Production Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
- 05–10 years of experience in garment manufacturing, with at least 2 years leading IE at factory or group level.
- Professional certifications such as Lean Six Sigma (Green/Black Belt) or Kaizen / TPM / 5S training are preferred.
Skills & Competencies:
- Hands-on experience with GSD (General Sewing Data)
– implementation, data maintenance, and SMV validation. - Proven experience in Lean Manufacturing, work-study, and process improvement.
