Head of Software Engineering

Job Purpose & Context

This senior leadership role is responsible for defining and executing Tekvision's software and innovation strategy. The Candidate will oversee the design, development and continuous enhancement of Tekvision's software portfolio, while leading initiatives in industrial automation, robotics and AI integration. The Candidate ensures technology solutions align with the evolving needs of one of the largest ready-made garment manufacturing ecosystems, with a long-term vision to expand innovation into other industries.

The Candidate will transform the team into a high-performing, future-ready unit for enterprise-grade software development. This includes coaching and mentoring team members to strengthen their skills, building departmental capabilities and driving the creation of a commercially viable and competitive software product portfolio.

The position is based at Tekvision Headquarters in Anwara, Chattogram, Bangladesh. The Candidate will also coordinate closely with a geographically distributed team operating across multiple locations, ensuring alignment, collaboration and seamless execution of technology initiatives.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

· Define and drive the long-term vision for software development, industrial automation and digital solutions, ensuring Tekvision leads in technology for manufacturing and beyond.

· Shape the technology roadmap for software and innovation, promoting the adoption of AI and emerging technologies to transform manufacturing operations.

· Lead and empower the Software Engineering team to deliver secure, scalable and high-impact business-grade applications.

· Guide the Innovation and R&D team in developing robotics, industrial automation and smart manufacturing solutions.

· Identify opportunities for automation and digital transformation and turn challenges across the manufacturing lifecycle and client operations into innovative solutions.

· Oversee the full software lifecycle, including architecture, design, release management and change control, ensuring excellence at every stage.

· Collaborate with other department heads to align technological initiatives with business priorities and operational goals.

· Represent the department in strategic discussions with senior leadership, partners and external stakeholders, advocating for innovation and impact.

· Drive departmental performance by managing budgets, resources and targets to achieve measurable results.

· Build and nurture strategic relationships with key partners, educational institutions and professional associations to strengthen Tekvision's innovation ecosystem.

Minimum Requirements

·  BSc in Computer Science & Engineering or Equivalent.

· At least 15 years of progressive experience in software development, including a minimum of 5 years in senior leadership or entrepreneurial roles.

· Extensive hands-on experience with the Microsoft .NET ecosystem, especially in transforming monolithic systems into modern, scalable architectures.

· Demonstrated ability to lead large, multidisciplinary software and R&D teams and deliver secure, scalable and high-impact technology solutions.

· Strong capability to translate innovative ideas into practical solutions that align with business objectives and operational realities.

Additional Requirements

·  Exposure to industrial automation, IoT, or robotics initiatives within manufacturing environments is highly desirable.

· Proven track record in developing AI-powered applications or applying AI technologies to solve business or industrial challenges.

·  Visionary mindset with strong leadership, strategic thinking and communication skills.

·  Excellent interpersonal, stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills.
