JOB PURPOSE: To lead and drive Commercial Excellence initiatives across the sales organization by building capabilities, optimizing go-to-market strategies, enhancing sales force effectiveness, and leveraging data-driven insights. This role will ensure the organization maximizes revenue growth, improves productivity, and maintains competitive advantage. The position will be reporting to the Country Manager of Haleon Bangladesh.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Sales Strategy & Go-to-Market Optimization
  • Partner with Sales and Marketing leadership to define and refine sales strategies, coverage models, and resource allocation
  • Evaluate and recommend changes to the go-to-market approach for improved channel and customer performance
  • Support segmentation and prioritization of customers, channels, and regions
  • Sales Force Effectiveness
  • Design, implement, and optimize sales force structure, territory design, and workload management
  • Lead performance tracking, target setting, and incentive program design
  • Drive adoption of CRM and other sales enablement tools to boost productivity and visibility
  • Capability Building & Training
  • Identify capability gaps within the commercial team and lead training programs to address them
  • Build structured onboarding, coaching, and performance development programs for field teams
  • Promote a continuous learning culture within the commercial function
  • Business Intelligence & Analytics
  • Lead analytics to generate insights around performance, customer behavior, and market opportunities
  • Partner with finance and data teams to build dashboards and predictive models for decision-making
  • Monitor KPIs and create actionable reports for sales leadership
  • Trade Investment & ROI Optimization
  • Design frameworks to track effectiveness and ROI of trade promotions, pricing schemes, and customer programs
  • Partner with Finance and Trade Marketing to optimize investment allocation by channel and customer segment
  • Monitor discount leakage, claim efficiency, and compliance to investment guidelines
  • Enable decision-making on customer prioritization, discount structures, and promotional spend using ROI analysis
  • Process & Operational Excellence
  • Map and streamline end-to-end commercial processes (e.g., order to cash, claims management, demand generation)
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance speed, accuracy, and compliance
  • Build governance models and SOPs for key sales processes to ensure consistency and scale
  • Ensure system integration and data harmonization across platforms
  • Cross-functional Collaboration
  • Act as the link between the field and head office – ensuring two-way communication and alignment
  • Work closely with Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain, and HR to ensure alignment on commercial priorities
  • Act as a catalyst for digital transformation and data-driven culture within the sales organization

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCES:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, or a related field from a reputed University. Having an MBA is a must.
  • 15+ years of experience in Commercial Excellence, Business Strategy, Sales or Sales Operations, preferably in FMCG/FMCH/Pharma with at least 3 years leading role in ComEx or Sales Operations or Business Strategy/Analytics
  • Proven experience in leading large-scale sales transformation or excellence initiatives. Working experience in a MNC FMCG/FMCH/Pharma will be considered as an added qualification, but not mandatory
  • Deep understanding of go-to-market models, territory management, target exercise and sales incentive systems
  • Proven leadership experience, with the ability to lead and inspire cross-functional teams to achieve common goals
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to translate data and insights into actionable strategies and tactics
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with relevant stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and drive results in a highly competitive market
