Overview
We are seeking a creative Graphic & UI/UX Designer with a stronger focus on graphics and visual communication. In this role, you will be responsible for creating visually striking designs for both digital and print platforms, while also contributing to user interface design when required. You will collaborate with the marketing and web development teams to ensure brand alignment and consistency across all design outputs. The ideal candidate will bring a strong sense of creativity, attention to detail, and the ability to balance aesthetics with functionality
Key Responsibilities
- Graphic Design: Create compelling graphics for websites, social media, email campaigns, digital advertising, brochures, logos, merchandise, and other promotional materials.
- Brand Consistency: Create and maintain brand guidelines, design brand materials (such as logos, stationery, merchandise), and evolve the brand identities of all PEN Group companies (both existing and future) across all design projects, ensuring consistency while bringing innovative ideas to the table.
- Vector & AI Design: Ability to create vector designs from scratch and effectively use AI tools by prompting and generating design inspirations.
- Content Pairing: Combine text, images, and video content into cohesive and impactful designs for marketing and communication.
- UI/UX Research: Conduct basic user research, gather feedback, and assist in usability testing to understand user needs and behaviours.
- Wireframing & Prototyping: Create simple wireframes, layouts, and interactive prototypes to support interface design processes.
- UI/UX Contribution: Design user-friendly interfaces and enhance user experience for web and mobile platforms, ensuring a balance between aesthetics and functionality.
- Motion / Video Design: Develop engaging motion graphics and visual assets for digital campaigns, including social media reels and animated ads.
- Collaboration: Work closely with marketing, creative, and development teams to ensure designs align with business and user needs.
- Design Standards: Support the development of design systems, templates, and guidelines to streamline creative output.
- Continuous Improvement: Keep up to date with design trends, tools, and industry best practices to improve the quality of outputs
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Undergraduate or Postgraduate Degree in Graphic Design, Creative Design, UI/UX Design, or similar relevant qualification. Candidates with strong portfolios but no formal qualifications will also be considered.
- Minimum 3 years of professional experience in graphic design, with exposure to UI/UX work. This position is not open to entry-level candidates; prior professional experience in the mentioned field is required.
- Strong portfolio showcasing graphic design projects (digital and print), with additional UI/UX or motion graphics examples preferred.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects) and UI/UX tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, or Sketch.
- Solid understanding of typography, colour theory, and layout composition.
- Some experience with responsive design, motion graphics, and video editing is advantageous.
- Ability to adhere to brand guidelines while contributing creative flair.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- Detail-oriented with a passion for creating high-quality, polished designs
