Tunnel Design and Lining Specialist- BID Position

Currently, we are bidding for Bangladesh Railways projects across India. The position of Tunnel Design and Lining Specialist is the key position in these BIDs.

• Assist the Chief Resident Engineer (Civil) in coordinating to review and approve the Contractor(s)' working drawings, shop drawings and drawings for temporary works. Also, review and approve in consultation with the Client, if any, design prepared by the Contractor(s) for any part of the permanent works;
• Check and review the Contractor(s)' working /shop design and construction planning for tunnel excavation work for both bored tunnels and cut-and-cover tunnels, including soil improvement, tunnel excavation, linings, base concrete layers for ballast-less tracks, drainage arrangements, and dewatering arrangements during construction and permanent waterproofing of tunnels;
• Be responsible for preparing new design or modifying existing design of tunnel and alignment as per Client's requirement;
• Assist TBM Specialist for tunnel construction works as per requirements;
• Assist the Chief Resident Engineer (Civil) in supervising the construction of tunnel works;
• Collect and compile data related to lining works for the monthly reports covering the progress of the works;
• Assist in resolving, countering or mitigating actual and potential claims from the Contractor(s);
• Assist the Client in testing and Commissioning on completion of the works related to Tunnel works;
• Inspect, monitor and ensure construction safety during tunnelling works and
• Any other related works the Chief Resident Engineer (Civil) gives.

• Bachelor's Degree in the field of Civil Engineering or equivalent
• 15 years of professional experience
• Must have proficiency in English
• 10 years of professional experience as a Tunnel design engineer & lining Specialist, including one large-scale (>USD 0.5 billion) underground metro/railway project
• 2 years of work experience in outside Expert's country
