Dhaka Ahsania Mission (DAM) is an NGO with Consultative Status with UN ECOSOC and UNESCO. lt works for social and spiritual development of the human community. Founded with the motto of 'Divine and Humanitarian Service', over last 67 years DAM has been serving the human community for improved living conditions enhancing people's capacities to maximally utilize their inner potentials. DAM's current diversified works encompass multi-dimensional field programs and self-governing institutions in education, health and economic development sectors in Bangladesh.

Job profile
:
The position, Assistant Director, CC & DRR sector is rather more strategic than operational. The Assistant Director, CC & DRR sector is expected to provide the strategic direction to the CC & DRR sector of Dhaka Ahsania Mission. She/He is responsible for overall management and overseeing the on-going projects and initiatives of CC & DRR. Development of a strategic policy paper and guideline for the organization to address the emerging and on going needs of the Mission with contemporary context and requirements. Provide technical support to the field staff, staff competency development and project proposal writing. Assistant Director will also be responsible to take a leadership role during the disaster situation and take all possible and immediate measure to respond by mobilizing internal and external resources and keep updated the current climate change related information's with assistance from Disaster Management Committee of DAM and Joint Director, CC & DRR Sector. Keep regular liaison with donors, all program sectors and corresponding projects as appropriate.
Specific Job description:
- Creating harmony and develop an effective coordination within the sector.
- Oversee the on-going CC & DRR projects and ensure progress as per plan, maintain compliance, timely submission of reports (financial and progress), obtaining approval and clearance from NGOAB.
- Provide strategic guidance to the project holder (PCs) as and when required
- Keep liaison and linkage with donor partners if required and in some cases regularly
- Attend various meetings related to CC & DRR; both with government and other agencies as assigned
- Develop need based project proposal and Contingency Plan for DAM (within a stipulated time)
- Develop a DRR information database involving all project locations and staff members working there.
- Create an emergency information center (hotline) during any disaster warning situation and keep operation round the clock as required and maintain a information log
- Keep connected with other stakeholders (government and private) and exchange information
- Immediately get connected with all our vulnerable geographical locations and offices and keep connected and exchange information and directives from DAM HQ during disaster emergency situation
- Oversee and coordinate from central to all disaster emergency response works, keep connected with donors, coordinate field operation for emergency, recovery and rehabilitation interventions, ensure all resources mobilized and disbursed to the field on time and reports are prepared and send to donors on time
- Attend Program Coordination Meeting and Monthly Coordination Meeting regularly
- Prepare regular monthly and quarterly update report of the Unit and submit MIS report to MIS & Central Monitoring Unit.

- Master of Social Science (MSS)
Experience Requirements
- At least 10 year(s)
Experiences:
- Working Experiences 10 years including 5 ( five) years Management Positions.
Competency required
:
The position requires and demands a fair understanding of the contemporary CC & DRR concepts, paradigm shifts, regional and global context of climate change adaptation and changes in the response approaches during the disaster situation. Knowledge, understanding, information and updating with changes happening in the sector specially the climate change is an important on-going effort for the position. Build and develop linkage and networking with major players in the CC & DRR field including the donor partners is an essential competency for the position. Within the organization, the position demands demonstrating a good interpersonal relationship with all divisions in general and specific staff members in particular.
