About the role:

The Senior Manager, Research & Evaluation (R&E) will drive evidence generation, strategic learning, and data-driven decision-making for the Poverty Alleviation Cluster comprising Integrated Development Programme (IDP) & Ultra-Poor Graduation Programme (UPG). The role will ensure strong research and evaluation to support programmes, policy, and donors, while building collaborations with external and academic partners to improve methods and drive innovation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop the multi-year research and evaluation agenda by aligning it with programme priorities and learning needs.
• Design and assure high-quality studies by applying rigorous methods, strong technical oversight, and clear research protocols.
• Translate programme needs into actionable studies and knowledge products that inform design, ToC, targeting, coaching, and policy.
• Oversee large-scale and time-sensitive research by managing partners, MoUs, workplans, and data-sharing while ensuring quality.
• Strengthen external and academic collaborations to enhance methodological rigor, innovation, and global knowledge contribution.
• Communicate research findings through briefs, dashboards, presentations, and internal learning sessions to support decisions.
• Engage donors, government, and external stakeholders through strategic dissemination to drive evidence-based influence.
• Lead the R&E team by mentoring staff, managing temporary field personnel, coordinating with programme units, and ensuring safeguarding in all activities.

Safeguarding Responsibilities:

• Ensure the safety of Programme Participants, people who come into contact with the organisation and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) to achieve the programme goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
• Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action
• Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so.

Additional Job Requirements:

• Skilled in research design, sampling, survey methods, and evaluation approaches.
• Knowledgeable about the Graduation approach, poverty dynamics, livelihoods, and resilience.
• Proficient in statistical software (Stata, R, SPSS) and data visualisation.
• Excellent communication skills in both writing and speaking.
• Experienced in leading teams and project management.

Educational Requirements:

Master's degree in Economics, Statistics or Development Studies or any other relevant discipline from any recognised university/institution.

Experience Requirements:

Minimum 8 years of experience in research and M&E within the poverty reduction, social protection, livelihoods, resilience sector or any relevant field.

Salary:
Negotiable.
