Education and Qualifications


· Bachelor's degree in computer science, IT, Data Science or related field .

· Proven Experience in BI Development

· Strong ability to write and optimize complex SQL queries within SQL Server or a similar RDBMS

· Hands-on experience designing and implementing ETL/ELT processes

· Experience creating data models and designing databases for reporting and analytics purposes

Principal Accountabilities


·
Develop and Implement BI Solutions

· Optimize Data Process: Monitor and enhance data flows for accuracy, efficiency and

performance

· Ensure Data Quality: Implement validation checks and error handling to maintain high data

integrity

· Collaborate with stakeholders, Support and Train Users

· Maintain Data Governance Standards

Experience and Skills


  1. Proficiency in Microsoft BI Stack

o Strong experience with Power BI, SQL Server, SSIS, SSAS, and Microsoft Fabric.

o Expertise in Azure Data Services (Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, Azure Databricks,

Azure Data Lake).

  1. Data Engineering & ETL Expertise

o Proven ability to design, develop, and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines for structured and

unstructured data.

o Experience integrating data from multiple sources (APIs, databases, flat files, cloud

storage, etc.).

o Knowledge of incremental data loading, partitioning strategies, and performance tuning.

  1. Advanced SQL and Performance Optimization

o Ability to write and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and indexing

strategies.

o Experience in query performance tuning and troubleshooting bottlenecks in large

datasets.

  1. Data Modelling & Architecture

o Expertise in designing data models for analytical workloads, including star and snowflake

schemas.

o Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts, medallion architecture (Bronze,

Silver, Gold layers), and dimensional modelling.

  1. Data Visualization & Reporting

o Ability to develop interactive and visually compelling dashboards using Power BI.

o Experience with DAX, Power Query (M), and performance optimization in Power BI.

  1. Data Quality & Governance

o Strong knowledge of data validation, cleansing techniques, and maintaining data integrity.

o Experience implementing data security, role-based access control (RBAC), and

compliance best practices.

o Understanding of data cataloging and metadata management.

  1. Programming & Automation

o Proficiency in Python or PowerShell for data automation and transformation.

o Experience with CI/CD pipelines for data workflows (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions,

Terraform).

o Familiarity with orchestration tools like Apache Airflow is a plus.

  1. Problem-Solving & Performance Tuning

o Ability to troubleshoot complex data pipeline issues and implement scalable solutions.

o Experience in monitoring data infrastructure, identifying inefficiencies, and optimizing

performance.

  1. Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement

o Strong communication skills to gather requirements, translate business needs into

technical solutions, and engage with non-technical stakeholders.

o Ability to mentor junior data engineers and collaborate across teams (BI, analytics,

software development).

  1. Cloud & Infrastructure Knowledge (Desirable) o Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) for provisioning data services. o Understanding of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and distributed computing frameworks.

· Certification in Microsoft BI Tools: Microsoft Certified Azure Data Engineer Associate, Microsoft

Certified Fabric Data Engineer Associate, Microsoft Certified Fabric Analytics Engineer

· Experience with Cloud Data Warehousing
