As a Mortgage Administrator, you will play a crucial role in supporting the mortgage advisors and ensuring the smooth processing of mortgage applications. You will be responsible for managing the administrative tasks involved in the mortgage application process, liaising with clients, lenders, and solicitors, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong administrative skills and a keen interest in the financial services industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Application Processing: Handle the end-to-end processing of mortgage applications, from initial documentation to final approval, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Client Communication: Act as the primary point of contact for clients, keeping them informed of the progress of their mortgage application and addressing any queries or concerns.
  • Liaison with Lenders and Solicitors: Coordinate with mortgage lenders, solicitors, and other third parties to ensure timely and accurate processing of applications.
  • Document Management: Maintain and organize client files, ensuring all necessary documentation is collected, reviewed, and stored securely.
  • Compliance: Ensure all mortgage applications comply with the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) regulations and company policies.
  • Reporting: Prepare regular reports on application progress, outstanding requirements, and pipeline status for the mortgage advisors and management.
  • Administrative Support: Provide general administrative support to the mortgage advisors and the wider team, including scheduling appointments, managing correspondence, and updating internal systems.

Key Skills & Experience:

  • Experience: Previous experience in a mortgage administration role or within the financial services industry is preferred.
  • Knowledge: Understanding of the UK mortgage market and relevant regulatory requirements, including FCA guidelines.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients and third parties.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and accuracy, particularly when processing applications and managing documentation.
  • Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • IT Proficiency: Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and experience with mortgage processing software.
  • Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being self-motivated and able to work independently.

Qualifications:

  • O-level/A-level background or native speaker preferred.
  • A-levels or equivalent education required; a degree in finance, business, or a related field is advantageous.
  • CeMAP (Certificate in Mortgage Advice and Practice) qualification is desirable but not essential.
