This role will be responsible for designing, coordinating, and overseeing the implementation of circular economy initiatives within the BRAC Urban Development Programme. This includes sustainable waste management models, recycling innovation, market-based solutions, social inclusion of informal waste workers, and plastic value chain development.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and execution of circular economy aspects of the plastic recycled products from the recycling facility, including waste segregation, recycling innovation, composting, and upcycling.
• Facilitate public-private partnerships to enhance recycling infrastructure, market linkage, and product innovation.
• Coordinate plastic waste collection, segregation, and processing activities in targeted wards.
• Ensure regular maintenance of recycling machinery and floating barriers.
• Lead research for upgradation of recycled plastic products to create market demand.
• Identify opportunities to develop high-quality recycled goods for commercial and community use.
• Facilitate co-creation with designers and artisans to develop marketable recycled products.
• Develop and strengthen partnerships with buyers, scrap dealers, wholesalers, and plastic recycling companies.
• Facilitate business incubation support for local artisans and youth-led green enterprises.
• Work with municipal bodies to integrate circular economy models into local planning.
• Work closely with the quality, logistics, and maintenance teams for smooth operations.
• Support municipal model scaling from Ward-4 to other Wards (1, 10, 12 and beyond).
• Perform any task assigns by your supervisors.

SAFEGUARDING RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Ensure the safety of Programme Participants, people who come into contact with the organisation and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) to achieve the programme's goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
• Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
• Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so.

Educational Requirements:
Master's degree in Business Development/Industrial Engineering/Environmental Science or a related discipline from a reputed institute.

Experience Requirement:
Minimum 4 years demonstrated working experience in relevant field in value chain development, market linkage, or SME incubation. Field experience in working with municipalities, private sector actors, and the informal waste sector. Strong knowledge of plastic types (PET, HDPE, LDPE, PP, etc.) and recycling processes will get advantage.
