Emergency Medical Officer (In- Charge)

Job Description / Responsibility

  • Lead and supervise all clinical activities in the Emergency Department, especially spine, trauma, and orthopaedic emergencies.
  • Provide rapid assessment, diagnosis, and management of acute spine injuries, fractures, dislocations, polytrauma, and orthopaedic emergencies.
  • Coordinate with orthopaedic surgeons, anaesthesiologists, radiology, ICU, and operation theatre teams.
  • Ensure proper triage, stabilization (Airway, Breathing, Circulation), and emergency procedures.
  • Maintain accurate medical documentation, emergency reports, and handover notes.
  • Oversee emergency duty roster and guide junior medical officers and paramedics.
  • Ensure compliance with hospital protocols, infection control, and emergency medical guidelines.
  • Handle medico-legal cases according to hospital policy and legal requirements.
  • Provide leadership during mass casualty or critical emergency situations

Educational Requirements

  • Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery(MBBS)
  • MBBS from a recognized institution with valid BMDC registration.
  • Post-graduate training/experience in Orthopaedics, Emergency Medicine, or Critical Care will be an added advantage.

Experience Requirements

  • 2 to 5 year(s)
  • The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s):
  • Hospital

Additional Requirements

  • Strong skills in emergency resuscitation, fracture management, spine injury stabilization, and trauma care.
  • Ability to lead emergency teams under high-pressure situations
  • Excellent communication skills and decision-making ability.

Required Experience:

  • Minimum 2–5 years' experience in Emergency, Trauma, or Orthopaedic care.
