Position Overview: The job Workplace: Kigali, Rwanda

The Wastewater Treatment Quality Manager will oversee and manage all quality assurance and control activities within the wastewater treatment operations. This role focuses on developing, implementing, and maintaining the quality management systems to ensure compliance with environmental regulations, industry standards, and best practices in wastewater treatment. The Quality Manager will also coordinate quality audits, monitor performance metrics, and facilitate continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive quality management system aligned with regulatory and industry standards.
  • Monitor and assess wastewater treatment processes to ensure compliance with quality standards and regulations.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections of wastewater treatment facilities and processes.
  • Lead quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and reducing non-compliance incidents.
  • Prepare and maintain quality assurance documentation, including quality manuals, procedures, and reports.
  • Provide training and support to staff on quality management practices and procedures.
  • Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to resolve quality issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Communicate effectively with regulatory agencies and stakeholders regarding quality and compliance matters.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant regulations, standards, and technologies in the wastewater treatment sector.
  • Analyze quality data and prepare reports to support decision-making and regulatory compliance.
  • Participate in project meetings and provide insights related to quality assurance and control.
  • Facilitate continuous improvement programs to enhance the overall quality management framework.

Requirements

Qualifications:

Educational qualifications: At least aAt least a Master's degree in quality management or quality control

Minimum Years of Experience: At least 12 years of experience in quality management within the wastewater treatment or environmental sector.

More than 12 projects experience of wastewater treatment and sewer network

  • Strong understanding of wastewater treatment processes and regulatory requirements.
  • Proven experience in quality assurance, control, and compliance management.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in quality management systems and relevant software tools.

Skills:

  • Leadership skills to guide the quality assurance team and influence organizational improvement.
  • Ability to read and interpret wastewater treatment technical data and reports.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to quality and safety.
  • Experience in conducting audits and implementing corrective actions.
  • Knowledge of statistical analysis and performance metrics related to quality control.
