Introduction
As a Software 2 Backend Engineer, you will contribute to the development, maintenance, and improvement of Optimizely Analytics' backend systems. You will:

• Implement and test backend features based on provided specifications and architecture.
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code.
• Collaborate with Product, UX, and Application Engineering teams to help deliver new features and resolve bugs.
• Participate in team code reviews, learning from feedback to grow your technical abilities.
• Proactively seek opportunities to expand your knowledge of distributed systems, code quality, and operational best practices.

Job Responsibilities
As a Software 2 Backend Engineer, you will contribute to the development, maintenance, and improvement of Optimizely Analytics' backend systems. You will:

Knowledge And Experience

• 3+ years of software development experience with strong foundations in data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems.
• Experience in system design, API design, scalability, and performance tuning.
• Proficiency in at least one modern backend programming language (Java preferred).
• Basic understanding of cloud-native architectures, containerization, orchestration, and CI/CD pipelines.

We Would Love to See

• Experience working on large-scale backend services.
• Familiarity with microservices, enterprise-grade backend infrastructure, or cloud-native design patterns.
• A positive, growth-oriented mindset and willingness to seek and act on feedback.

Education
Bachelor's Degree (Computer Science or engineering preferred) or equivalent work experience
