Product Technologist 12-month contract

We are looking for a Product Technologist to join our Quality – QA – Apparel team handling Men's, womenswear & childrenswear. This candidate will be responsible to deliver products with quality and fit that meet company specifications and standards and comply with Safety and Mandatory standards.

Product Technologist [12-month contract]

What will you do?

• Evaluate samples (Design sample, QA sample, Customer contract samples) against standards to ensure products meet all Target Quality Standards.
• Approve and risk assess samples against Target standards and requirements, in line with critical path.
• Provide technical advice to merchandising, design and buying teams on product quality, sample execution and fit related issues.
• Communicate with suppliers on all development (if needed) and production technical issues to ensure products are produced in accordance with Target quality standards.
• Provide technical training and on-going coaching to vendors/factories for meeting product and manufacturing requirements and continuous performance improvement.
• Deliver technical and quality induction to suppliers to train them on Target's quality and technical requirements.
• PP meetings with factories to prevent problems at production when required (factory visit may be required as well).
• Review and approve initial, bulk test report on fabrics and trims (colour, physical characteristics, chemicals).
• Communicate and align fabric performance standards against technical requirements with suppliers, mills and 3rd party.

What are we looking for?

• Higher Diploma or above in related technical disciplines.
• Minimum 8-10 years' solid experience in either a European accredited testing lab or QA role in a buying office.
• Good knowledge in pattern making, fit, garment construction, manufacturing process.
• Possess experience of sample evaluation, live model and mannequin fit evaluation.
• Experience of working directly with designers and buyers preferred.
• Knowledge in both development and production.
• Strong verbal and written English and local language.
• Proficiency in IT skills especially in the use of MS-Office applications.
