The Simulation and Lab Technician will serve the Nevada State University Health Science Lab by providing lab resources and Simulation technology support that support the education of nursing students as well as any external users. In order to strengthen the university and progress its mission, the university dedicates itself to intentional and ongoing reflection to meeting the evolving needs of Nevada State University, the surrounding communities, and the State of Nevada.We seek applicants who are passionate about working with this promising student population and collaborating with faculty and staff across departments to make a lasting impact in developing our institution and our community. We encourage you to highlight your background in fostering an inclusive campus culture and supporting the success of students who are historically underrepresented in higher education.Primary Responsibilities:Under the limited direction of the Simulation Lab Coordinator and Health Science Lab Director, incumbent supports lab operations for all nursing lab activities for the School of Nursing and External Users; this includes but not limited to the following:Coordinating and organizing all teaching sessions.Coordinating and organizing all high-stakes examination sessions.Set-up and break-down of physical assessment and skills labs.Assists with maintaining inventory and par levels, for disposable and non-disposable supplies so they are ready for use at all times.Pre-set/stock all labs and simulation areas so supplies are available for faculty.Operates and maintains teaching session/exam equipment (A/V software, cameras, video recorders, manikins, task trainers) and supplies.Assists Coordinator and Director to coordinate, prepare, and maintain schedules, equipment, and other required resources for all exam sessions and all teaching sessions.Assists in overseeing the management and archiving of old video files and exam and evaluation data to the servers, including paper and digital forms.Troubleshoots A/V equipment when problems arise.Facilitates repair and maintenance of laboratory equipment when needed.Provide support for high-fidelity simulations, including but not limited to:Provides technology support for simulation sessions including A/V system, manikin, task trainers, video recorders, and computer systemsCoordinates with faculty to ensure simulation scenarios are accurateAssist to ensure Faculty & Learners are oriented to capabilities, limitations, safety & proper use of all simulation manikins, trainers, AV, and Health Science Lab equipment.Frequent indoor standing and walking.
