Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer (API & Cloud Specialist)

Job Context:
Speedway Solutions Ltd. is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer to lead the development of a cutting-edge platform for the 401k retirement industry. This role requires a strong understanding of backend architecture, API integrations, cloud infrastructure (AWS/Azure), and robust security practices. The ideal candidate will be a key player in designing and implementing scalable, real-time data solutions and integrating critical third-party services.

Key Responsibilities

API & Backend Development

• Design, build, and maintain secure APIs for seamless data exchange with payroll and recordkeeping systems.
• Develop scalable and secure backend modules for participant and plan data.
• Optimize database and system performance to support high concurrency (50–5000 users).

Integration & Collaboration

• Collaborate with front-end developers to ensure smooth API integration and data flow.
• Work closely with product stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Coordinate with other team members to maintain consistency in coding standards, architecture, and best practices.
• Assist in integrating third-party services, libraries, or APIs as needed for additional functionality.
• Help troubleshoot and resolve integration issues between backend, frontend, and external services.
• Communicate effectively about progress, blockers, and technical decisions within the team.

Security & Compliance

• Implement two-factor authentication (2FA) and other client/server-side security measures.
• Adhere to secure coding practices and compliance standards throughout the development lifecycle.

Testing & Deployment

• Conduct thorough testing of web and mobile components to ensure functionality, responsiveness, and reliability.
• Contribute to all phases of the development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to deployment.

Educational Requirements

• Bachelor's / Master's degree in CSE, Software Engineering, or a related field

Experience Requirements

• At least 5 year(s)
• The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): IT Enabled Service

Experience:

• 5+ years in backend/API development, preferably in software firms or IT-enabled services.

Additional Requirements:

• Demonstrated portfolio of previous work.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
• Fluency in English (reading, writing, and speaking).
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging abilities
• Proactive, team player with a learning mindset

Skills & Expertise

API & Backend Development

• Expert in designing and integrating APIs (REST/GraphQL) with payroll and recordkeeping vendor systems.
• Proficient in backend frameworks (Laravel, or Spring Boot) for building secure, scalable services.
• Strong database design and optimization skills (MySQL, PostgreSQL).

Cloud & DevOps

• Hands-on experience with AWS and/or Azure cloud infrastructure.
• Proficient in CI/CD pipelines, Git, Docker, and containerized deployments.
• Skilled at architecting scalable, fault-tolerant systems for high-concurrency environments.

Real-Time & Data Solutions

• Experience with real-time data visualization and event-driven systems (WebSockets, SignalR).
• Ability to design and manage high-throughput data pipelines.

Security & Compliance

• Strong knowledge of secure coding practices and compliance standards relevant to financial/retirement platforms.
• Expertise in implementing advanced authentication mechanisms (e.g., 2FA, identity management).

Leadership & Collaboration

• Proven ability to lead development teams and mentor junior engineers.
• Strong project management skills, including requirements gathering, architecture planning, and delivery oversight.
• Effective communicator with stakeholders, clients, and cross-functional teams.
